I like some things about Discovery.
Their interpretation of Section 31 is most definitely not one of those things.

Maybe they will mention something tomorrow with this and the Academy show at Comic Con.
1 and 3 would be my bets, but with Michelle Yeoh doing a Netflix series now S31 might have fallen by the wayside. I can see a Seven/Raffi 25th century show recycling those Picard ship sets being a thing. I recall "Star Trek Republic" being trademarked awhile ago.I believe Akiva said 2 new shows in the oven. And there will be more female leads. I'd say the candidates are:
1) Michelle in S31 show.
2) Jeri Ryan in Seven show.
3) Tilly in Academy show.
4) Something new.

It was a dumb idea in my opinion.

As for Michelle Yeah both the series that she's in have wrapped principal photography for their seasons and are in post-production.
It's not like actors can only do one thing at a time. (depending on how a given contract is written) I'm sure if they can work out the scheduling and she's still game, they'd make the Section 31 series.

Yep - as far a surprise announcements go - IMO nothing special (even though I like Carol Kane and all). Hell, they didn't even announce SNW was renewed for a third season, although I would think such a thing is pretty much a lock at this point.I'm very surprised we didn't get an announcement for Section 31 or any other new show yesterday.
We have been promised an announcement "soon" for years now. With Picard now out of production a new show should be in production at this very moment if they want to keep up with 50 Star Trek episodes each year.
During the Picard panel there was talk about the dark side of Trek, so maybe we'll get something.I'm very surprised we didn't get an announcement for Section 31 or any other new show yesterday.

70-year-old Carol Kane is joining SNW as Chief Engineer in S2.
Maybe there's hope for Michelle after all?
What have the two things got to do with one another?
