Just seen it, quite enjoyed it. And im one that didn't like Ragnarockk

Plenty of movies have had a post credits scene setting up a character or story like that one, but then never actually got to do the follow up.^^^
Given one of the post credits scenes with Hercules and Zeus, I find that claim somewhat dubious. (He had to be involved in creating and filming it I would imagine.)

Enjoyed the movie quite a lot. I enjoy Waititi's humor a lot, but I felt he balanced it better with plot, drama and action in Ragnarok than he did here. It was splendid to see Natalie Portman back as Mighty Thor.
I don't know if the rumors of a total of 4 hours of movie being filmed are true, but it does feel that some parts were missing. A bit more expo here and there. The ending left me a bit unsatisfied, but not in a way that makes me really not like the movie.
All in all, not the best Thor movie for me, or the best Marvel movie. But also one I will gladly rewatch in about 5 weeks when it hits Disney+

I liked it. It was almost as funny as Ragnarok, but the humour felt less out of place. Despite Jane's cancer, the kidnapped kids and at least one of the murdered gods being an old friend of Thor's, it still felt like much more of a fun adventure than Ragnarok, which had a lot of zany humour for a story in which Thor loses his father, 3 of his best friends, home world, hammer and eye, and gets kidnapped and forced to engage in death battles as a slave (Valkyrie's treated as a fun smart-ass, but how many innocent people did she sell into slavery? How many died brutal deaths? How many people did Hulk kill in the arena?).

Well as of now we've still never seen Mac Gargan again since the Homecoming post-credits scene. Mordo's anti-magic quest was completely glossed over by Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, too.
If I google a list of MCU post credits then I see:
There was a Frost Beast let loose in London at the end of The Dark World which was never mentioned again, though I doubt that was ever even intended to be followed up on anyway.
The reforming of the 'original' Guardians of the Galaxy (Stakar et al) has never been mentioned again, though in that case not only do I question whether it was ever intended to have a follow up there's also the fact that Guardians 3 isn't out yet anyway.
It's not common in the MCU for them to be completely ignored (except for the simple joke stuff like Shawarma, et al, of course) but it has happened once or twice, so a post credits scene is not an iron clad guarantee.

We haven't had any follow-up on the plot thread with Sam Sterns becoming The Leader in over 20 movies.
Taita's seems so checked out on this one there might be some truth to it.^^^

Sure, why not? Even for the nonreligious it would be fun to tackle it like Marvel has taken on Thor.
Plus, that Lucifer show seemed to do well...

But, then, I always love god battling god.
I gave it an A. Much better than Ragnarok. I'm one who enjoyed the first Thor very much, so it was nice to see "Jodie Foster" back in this one; really enjoyed her performance and loved her end credits scene. This movie did a much better job than the previous movie of getting Thor's personality more in line with how he comes across in other MCU appearances. Lots of humour but without doing a disservice to the characters nor taking away from the strong character moments. Christian Bale was really good, and his character was one that I could feel much more sympathy for than other MCU villains.
I haven't had this much fun watching an MCU movie since Endgame. I only checked the time once and that was because I couldn't believe the third act came around so quickly. Also the run time was exactly what it needed to be to keep the story moving--anything more would have felt like it was padding.

I haven't seen the movie yet. However, my sister saw it today. She thought it was a mess. She also added there were too many jokes and most of the film looked cheap. She didn't think Taika Waititi or Marvel Films had put much effort into the movie. She also told me that she believed Christian Bale was the best thing in this movie and his presence was wasted.
I will say this. Marvel is having a serious "effects" problem during this phase of movies. And it is a shame. Just like with Dr. Strange and Shang-Chi, there are more than a few shots that look cartoonish. It didn't "wreck" them movie for me, but they were jarring. Spider-Man and The Eternals probably had these moments as well but I don't remember them well enough to comment.

Just saw it and gave it a C+, Bale's God Butcher saved the movie from being really crap.
I hate what they did to Thor in Ragnarok and now Love & Thunder - a joke. I really dislike this direction of turning him into a comedy character, it just doesn't suit him and Waititi's humor may work for kids but certainly not for this adult, i don't think i laughed at a single "comedy" moment the entire movie.
Fortunately they got Christian Bale to play Gorr, who elevated the movie by himself to mediocrity. His scenes were properly scary as Gorr should be and have the movie some much needed weight but otherwise it was a fail ( i actually got a bit mad when they dragged Zeus through the mudd and made him this brain dead joke of a god - that whole scene was just god awful).
Some small parts were cool though - Thor bestowing (unknowingly) an enchantment on Mjolnir to protect Jane, Mjolnir now being able to turn himself into multi-warhead seeker weapon and how Thor turned the kids into mini-Thors and i liked the end when Gorr trusted his daughter into Thor's care and he took her on a Thor "adventure" ( that was a cool shot of them both leaping into the their with their weapons).
Also as an 80's kid - Guns'N'Roses is always awesome

To be fair, it did just say 'Thor', whereas the movie went out of its way to only ever refer to Jane as 'Mighty Thor' so that she wasn't using the exact same name as him.

Zeus understood the outside situation and wanted to keep his people out of it.
Playing the fool is not the same as being dumb.
Zeus pretended to die, which means that he actually gave Thor Thunderbolt, which allowed Thor to leave and none of his people were dragged into the outside shit show.
The only thing Zeus didn't understand was that Stormbreaker was the Key to Eternity.
Unless Zeus was playing a deeper game and gambled that Gor would waste his wish on Love?
It's not about what Zeus planned or had in mind, the portrayal of him was atrociously written ( poor Crowe having to act like this). Zeus is the father of the olympian gods, on the same level as Odin so he should have gravitas, dignity and a royal demeanor. As much as i dislike the Thor movies Anthony Hopkins as Odin was brilliant ( his shout to silence Loki when he was about to punish Thor is one of the best Thor moments).
I just believe Waitit is the wrong director for Thor, if he had made Guardians it would have been ok as they were a blank slate ( though i don't believe he would have done as good a job as Gunn). Let him do his shows like What we do in the Shadows and that other one with the Pirates (?) - tried to watch Shadows and gave up after a few minutes and saw a clip from his new show that completely kept me away from even trying to give it a shot.
For all accounts he seems like a very nice and passionate guy and the crew like him a lot. I just believe Marvel dropped the ball hard with the Thor solo movies from the beginning, these could have been truly epic as the Norse mythology is full of it.
