If I remember correctly, Una told M'Benga that she would have engineering put together a dedicated energy supply for that particular transporter.
One could assume that it is separate from the overall ships energy supply.
Kind of how the Jenolen's power was down for 75 years but Scotty's jerry-rigged power source deep in the transporter system kept the pattern buffer locked in diagnostic mode to hold his pattern.
No idea, just an easily recognizable character who would feasibly be unfamiliar with the Federation in the 23rd century

M'Benga was probably referring to the blowback from the Gorn weapons hitting the Enterprise knocking out and destroying the power transfer conduits throughout the Med bays.
TOS doesn’t feel dated to me. If anything it has such a unique style that it’s timeless.

As long as you don't wipe your hands on your clothing and none of the patient's are gushing blood, it's fairly easy to stay relatively clean, even in crisis mode.
But her outfit really wasn't pristine anymore once the patient's started coming in.
Also, we're taught to wash our hands between every patient even today.
Especially during emergency's.
Spreading contaminants between patients can be deadly.

Depends on the wound. Stiching brings torn skin back together. When I split my eyebrow open last year that was 6 stitches. Wouldn't stop bleeding.
I loved seeing stitches. Desperate times call for old methods. Gauze wrappings were already a thing in TOS so this just adds to the throwback feel of the mid-to-late 23rd century. I'm glad.
But it's not immune to failure during massive attacks and system failures. I mean the synthesizing equipment for medical resources is down but the transporter buffer is perfectly fine?
The ship had power, just not enough resources/power to sustain two lives until help could arrive to such a remote location.

If it's a dedicated power supply connected right to the transporter in the med bay and not to the overall ships power conduits, then it probably would be fine until it took a direct hit of some type.
Also, we saw as stated above that Scotty managed to keep the Jenolan's transporter buffer operable for a few decades with minimum power.
So it might just be that the power supply connected to the med bay transporter may only be just enough to maintain it alone.
This episode really brought home why Spock would risk everything in "The Menagerie" for Captain Pike. I would too. Absolutely.

You know, if I have one major complaint about this episode, and maybe it's more about the consistency of world building in general, it's a question of how the Gorn could be advanced enough to understand space travel and curving light away to invent cloaking, but don't understand how black holes work.
