I had thought junior officers shared a cabin, while senior officers did not. The Captain's quarters would be the largest.
Almost all the ships have enough room for everyone to have their own room. As I said earlier in the thread, 1701 certainly does.
I think they just have the lower ranks share or bunk as part of psychological conditioning. You learn to tolerate others better by having to share space with them. You can take that lesson to a situation where there's a crunch and you might not have the luxuries you're used to. There's no personal space squeezed in to a Jeffries tube doing emergency repairs, stuck in an escape pod for two weeks, pinned down on a battlefield all night, or taking shelter from an ion storm.
Once you learn this lesson throughly, among many other lessons, you get your promotion to Lieutenant and your own quarters.
Jesus, even I want to dump their books. I mean.... there's being a nerd, and there's being a nerd to the point of obsession.Yes, a entire TrekYards about the new Jackets in SNW
That's usually what us nerds do in general.Jesus, even I want to dump their books. I mean.... there's being a nerd, and there's being a nerd to the point of obsession.
Well sure, but most of us don't make a thousand videos on the subject and make claims to be some kinda professional on the matter. That's what has always bugged me about Trekyards. They have this.... sense of superiority. They act like they are an authority in regards to Star Trek. They're basically Star Trek snobs. That's usually what us nerds do in general.
Remember when they were happy families with Axanar? They don't talk about it anymore, I wonder whyWell sure, but most of us don't make a thousand videos on the subject and make claims to be some kinda professional on the matter. Yep! Hard to forget. Pretty sure they're still pretty chummy with that idiot. I also can't take anyone serious who takes their whole "Captain and Commander" ranks so seriously. The "Captain" is actually from my hometown and I have actually bumped into him in person, and yes, he wears his own custom made clothing out in public. Complete with his own insignia. What you see on the channel is what you get in real life.Remember when they were happy families with Axanar? They don't talk about it anymore, I wonder why![]()
So his on screen personality is not fake? What you see on the channel is what you get in real life.
Sure, when I saw him at that local event. He walked around like he was Roddenberry resurrected. I got no problem with Trek YouTube channels. I got no problem with having a love of Starships. But the attitude.... The sanctumonious way in which they present themselves.... it's too much for me.So his on screen personality is not fake?
Have you ever tried to talk to him as a fellow Trek fan?
If the Enterprise returns to a starbase or spacedock, she could undergo repairs and be cleaned up by the next episode. Isn't there usually like two or three weeks--in universe--between adventures or something like that? It could be even longer with SNW perhaps.-
Also, I'll point out that if SNW is indeed episodic, it means that NEXT week, for the first time in this era of Trek, we may have to rationalize why the Enterprise is pristine and shiny again after this week's rather rough first date.
