I will say thoughthat Tallinn's rifle was awesome in the recent Picard, season 2 episode, 'Hide and Seek'.
There were bodies [http://www.chakoteya.net/StarTrek/54.htm]:
SPOCK: Captain Tracey's reserve belt packs. Empty. Found among the remains of several hundred Yang bodies.
Presumably the regular kill setting doesn't drain energy as quickly as dematerialize does.
I think he just used the regular kill setting, as in "The Conscience of the King," like @cooleddie74 suggested.Maybe as the packs ran out of charge they only killed but never vaporised?
Yeah, TOS phasers clearly had more than just two settings and the episodes clearly showed as much. Lenore Karidian killed her father with a phaser blast and he wasn't vaporized.
Then VFX department screwed up, they should be MUCH faster than 50 mph.Beams. Bolts look like they are flying at 50 mph
Kirk, James Kirk. Agent 1701, license to stun.Stromberg was just a knock-off Blofeld because the rights to the character were in legal dispute with Kevin McClory.
To return to the topic, I prefer my phasers shaken, not stirred.
You joke but I'd watch it.Kirk, James Kirk. Agent 1701, license to stun.
Have the projectile travel at about "Mach 3-4" from the muzzle of the Phaser would be appropriate for a Hand Phaser. From the users perspective, it would look like a glorified tracer round.Well, you want to have the snazzy visual fx, so you can't have the bolts move too fast. If they went at even an appreciable fraction of the speed of light, the ranges we see during ground battle would mean that there really wouldn't be anything more than a muzzle flash visible from the weapon, and the target would be just about falling even as you saw it.
You mean Star Trek isn't realistic?Have the projectile travel at about "Mach 3-4" from the muzzle of the Phaser would be appropriate for a Hand Phaser. From the users perspective, it would look like a glorified tracer round.
ShockingYou mean Star Trek isn't realistic?
You already know the answer to this, I don't even know why you're asking this rhetorical question. You mean Star Trek isn't realistic?
