The Orville season 3 - first look

Basically, Fox not knowing a good sci-fi series is completely different than a sci-fi series being good. If they don't cancel them way too early, they eff it up and make us wish they had cancelled it.

TBH, I'm glad Fox didn't pick up DW. It would have been cool to get it back several years earlier than we did, but then the Beeb might not have done their own revival at all.

 

The Orville is already part of Disney Plus in Canada. As with other Hulu stuff, I assume Season 3 will be released on the same date as the U.S. release.

 

That one bothered me because it was just starting to show there was more going on than the basic cop procedural. And Karl Urban was sooooooo good!

 

LOL. you forgot Terra Nova, the show with 1000 executive producers...

Now that's a damn fine trailer. It shows off the tone and how much money's going to be on screen without ruining any of the stories. (It seems like a lot of money's going to be on screen, they've really upgraded the sets).

 

Damn, it looks like this could be a great season, shame it's probably going to be the last.

Fox had nothing to do with V, it was produced by Warner Brothers, and aired on ABC.

 

That's a damn fine trailer. I look forward to seeing this crew again.

 

Damn, the move to Hulu definitely helped this show's budget. That's some epic looking stuff in that trailer.

 

That was a great trailer. It's just oozing with optimism and some cool visual effects. Looking forward to June.

Does anyone know if this is going to be a weekly release or are they bringing it all out at once?

 

I am going to miss it, no plan to subscribe to Hulu.

Alara? I don't think so. The blonde is the new crewmember Charly Burke and the person on the stairs is Talla.

 

Feels like a completely different show.

Season 3 looks to be freaking epic and I'm all for that.

 

I admit, I prefer Orville as a Trek parody than trying to be a genuine Trek show.

Which has always been the show's problem. It could get away with its Trekkisms when it was obviously a parody and comedy.

Less so as it tried to get more and more just into its own verse.

 

Show tries to be so many things at once… I don’t think it will ever truly find its own identity (pun intended), and in 10 years will only be remembered as ‘hey, remember that Star Trek spoof..?’
