Also, never underestimate human's blindness to change.
She took the hood down several times in the mall, and didn’t wear it at all during the memorial service.
I think the mall was very crowded with lots of people focused on their own business. So, it is possible that nobody noticed her. The memorial was people sympathetic to her father so likely "friendly".

Except they knew they were getting at least two seasons; so perhaps they made one complete 'arc' with said two seasons?
(And no, not saying it was a good thing to do here as yes, this is another case of 'middle episode syndrome' where they seem to be dagging everything out and moving the story along at a snail's pace; but it is what it is for better or worse.)
I enjoyed the scenes with the Spartans, both John and Halsey and Kia and Keyes. I think the actors are all doing a great job there, the Spartans all come off as skilled professionals who are also emotionally warped by their upbringings and vaguely unsettling in how they interact with other people. Halsey also continues to do a great job of being a mad scientist and surrogate mother. The parts on Madrigal are dragging, though. The actors don't have as much to work with and it's hard to see the point in the larger story. Presumably they're going to meet Makee next episode but I feel like that could have been accomplished without this side quest, which feels especially silly given that everyone should know that the place is screwed since the Covenant knows about it and will be planning to invade or destroy it.
They were there for the Artifact, which is no longer there. Why should they return?
The show continues to get better with every episode, although I did feel like the Kwan/Soren story was too predictable and kind of dull compared to the John/Halsey and Kai/Miranda stuff.
From the sounds of it to figure out where they took it.
The Elites were there for the keystone, and Makee said she was going to go back to figure out where it went. However, no one at the UNSC or on Madrigal knows about here, so they should be assuming that the Covenant is going to follow their usual strategy of finding a human planet and attacking it.
I was surprised, too. That's Dave Bowman? Wow. Then I look at Hood's face and yep, that's Keir Dullea. 
I tried watching the first episode of this and was bored silly. There are no characters, no plot. Just mindless action. It looks impressive, you can tell it has a budget. But if I'm supposed to be interested in Master Chief or Kwan or anybody else, this was a massive failure.
Good luck to those of you enjoying it, but I'm not going to bother with the second episode.

Further episodes have a lot more character development. So much that some people complained there wasn't enough action lol.
Never judge a show on a single episode, that's just silly IMO.
Finally a good episode and perhaps the episode to convince some die hard Halo fans that this show is something else than the games, so quit comparing.
Minimal Kwan story good ( still don't know what that is about, i fast forwarded through them) and we see a huge departure from Halo Lore - Master Chief has found out that Halsey kidnapped him, erased records for all Spartan candidates and that Cortana is able to disable him. That can't bode well for the Spartan/Halsey relationship, at least not for Master Chief. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, will MC tell this to the entire Spartan Team or will the show now ramp up the action so this development will lose priority ( would be a shame).
They pulled out the big one here action wise, Grunts, Jackals and even a Brute at the end - very good and probably what fans wanted to see all along.
Small nitpick - when you have big explosions going on but the ground is the same with no impact craters it kinda makes it look cheap. Small details like these help sell the illusion.
