Well, I know I still get triggered whenever I hear about WWI.
I still get pissed about the Battle of Thermopylae. That was a bunch of bullshit right there.

What episode?The Ringworld
In Disco S4, they fly right past a ringworld and don't investigate. Same as above, thousands of times the inhabitable area of a planet and... they flew right past. OMG
S04E11 "Rosetta"What episode?
Growing up with a veteran who tells stories of no quarter given, whole ships dying. Sure, why not? It's not rational because it is from a skewed historical perspective..
I hate them for the French and Indian War! (My ancestors are from Quebec).
That is honestly my expectation. It isn't just studying in books but talking and hearing from somebody who was there.Considering that in the 24th century 140 years is considered a good lifespan for a human, let's say it was 120 in the 23rd century. That makes it quite possible that Lt. Stiles grew up with an older family member that actually served (and survived) in that war and also told him about the deaths of his nephews and uncles.
It's simple. Nothing of note happened between ca 2290-2364.
I really want a live action Arex. If a fan film can do it, TV Trek certainly can!I'd really like to see a live-action M'Ress in SNW.
I haven't seen this episode but saw the clip on Youtube where it says she takes command and just assumed it would be a given she sat in the chair in the episode! What things do you think should've made it to the screen that you think producers missed out on? Do you think they can be rectified in the current Trek productions?
My biggest missed opportunity comes from TOS, TAS and the TOS movies, and that is Uhura not getting to sit in the captain's chair. There were numerous opportunities in TOS for it to happen, and I guess the timing wasn't right. Uhura did take command of the Enterprise in "The Lorelei Signal" (TAS) but they didn't actually put her in the captain's chair.
Do I think they can rectify it? Either Star Trek 4 or Strange New Worlds will have to opportunity to put her in the captain's chair, I hope they take advantage of it.
This is also "small universe syndrome", but there ARE times when some stories (which may or may not be perfect) have endings that CAN lead to a follow-up that's dramatic gold. Not all sequels are bad...
But even in the novelverse, we still have yet to find out what ever happened with the Morgs and Eymorgs. Talk about missed opportunities.

The 20th century humans lifted from their hells into 23rd/24th century life never got explored the moment the end credits rolled. The while biologist, the music dude, the financial dude, the homemaker...
The whale biologist shows up in a comic, the "financial guy" shows up in a novel in which he has become the Federation ambassador to the Ferengi Alliance.
