okay not humour but will hopefully bring a smile. An arrangment and performance of the Doctor Who theme by Welsh prog-rock multi-instrumentalist Robert Reed. Can't say I've heard a version like that before but like it. https://robertreed.bandcamp.com/album/theme-from-dr-who
Now I have an urge to write a Doctor Who/As Time Goes By crossover fanfic. Judi Dench is wonderful in everything she's in. This is hilarious!
^ That's very good. Though I still think my "Contractual Obligation of the Daleks" is a funnier Oh no not the Daleks again episode title
Not really humor, but couldn’t find a fan art thread for Doctor Who and won’t start a new thread for this. I built the TARDIS in Minecraft. That’s all.
I figure most of us here have seen "The Curse of Fatal Death", but how many of us knew a "making of..." special was produced? I certainly did not...until now. So, for your enjoyment...or gnashing of teeth, I share this YT clip I discovered earlier today. It's especially interesting hearing the comments from the creative team, both in front or and behind the camera, considering what has transpired since the late 90s.
looking at the YT page itself, it was uploaded in January 2021 and has only been viewed a smidge over 1,800 times, so it seems word of mouth has not circulated that much. Hey, at least now you do.
Oh, man, that was such a damn delight! Not just hearing everyone talking about Doctor Who in the past tense and what it meant to them while making predictions for the future, but also seeing the sheer joy all of them clearly had in producing this very silly adventure. I loved how Jonathan Pryce stayed in character for most of his interview, but also noted that The Master's laugh isn't just a laugh, it's a war cry (plus the lovely nod to Brian Blessed)! I also thought it was very cool that Julia Sawalha got the chance to talk to Louise Jameson since Leela was her favorite because of her intelligence. Out of the whole bunch, only Richard E. Grant has shown up on the main series but I really would love to see all of them appear in some form or another. Especially Jonathan Pryce. I did notice that. I did my bit and shared it on Facebook. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
It was just one of those seemingly random flukes. I accessed the YouTube home page and scrolled down, hoping for something that might catch my attention, and a thumbnail for this video appeared. "Huh? a 'making of...' video for 'Curse...'? Wonder why this never showed up earlier? New? Nope, uploaded 16 months ago. Well, whatever, let's watch it!" I suspect we now have an explanation for the Paradigm Daleks. Poor ol' Moffatt was none too thrilled he could barely fit within the standard casing! Possibly thinking to himself, "If this show ever comes back and I'm in the position of making, I'm gonna' demand these things be made roomier so I can have some fun!"
I was greatly amused about his moments inside the Dalek casing, but I didn't think of that possibility. Makes perfect sense! But....how?1?! That was hysterical!
To be clear I posted that "theory" with tongue planted firmly in cheek. But watch as my "observation" becomes a game of telephone and some people believe it a irrefutable fact.
