Spoilers Season 3 Cast Announcement

Captain Worf of the Enterprise-E... it's something I'd have to be able to see. As it is right now, I really just can't picture it. I'm not saying I think it's impossible. Just that it's... weird.

Captain of a ship like the Defiant, whose mission is combat? Sure. But the Enterprise? It's a different type of animal.

I can see him as Captain of the Enterprise…assuming Starfleet forgave him for the events of “Change of Heart” in DS9 S6.

His idea of Worf as the Captain of a Klingon ship could be an interesting one.

The show was pitched as NOT TNG 2.0.
You mean S1, right? ;)

Also, what I wrote is just this: Those who don't want to see essential elements of S3 could simply avoid it. And if they do wanna see them, those elements can't be as unwanted as they say.

Generally, we could simply postpone all of this nonsense to a point when we actually know the story, how much each actor is involved, what kinds of scenes they have, if and how much the current cast actually is sidelined, etc.

And my simple question is: Why should a TNG character show with a TNG character title have as few TNG characters as possible? Why shouldn't it have more? :p

It might be interesting to see Worf be a starship captain. I never really thought he was a very good leader. I mean, as an ambassador in novels, he was good, and ok as first officer under Picard. But not commander of a crew where he has final say. (What? That's not canon? No way!)

He did solo command quite a few times during the Dominion War. If you take alone what was on screen then he’d easily qualify for Captain.

All good things come to an end... again!

The fan boy in me wants them to show the Enterprise D, as that's the ship most associated with TNG. The saucer still exists. What if it's in the Fleet Museum? Restored with a new secondary hall. What if the TNG springs it?

Okay that might be too fanwanky. But I dislike the Enterprise E. Not my favorite Starship Enterprise.

But I'll be up for an Enterprise F.

Maybe they recovered the Enterprise D saucer section and refitted it with an awkward looking secondary hull and spindley warp nacelles and turned it in to the same class of ship as the Cerrito’s from Lower Decks?

Perhaps this is like a warp sleigh making the Enterprise D saucer section warp capable and our hero’s have to steal their old ship remains to save someone in Star Trek III TSFS style (Picard’s son that he doesn’t know he has I hear?). This could explain the none TNG music in the teaser trailer after the ST FC music which came from that era of films?

Hey here's a question for ya, are they going to revamp the opening credits for season 3 to go from the peaceful serenity of the first two seasons to using the TNG theme and logo for the third season?

S2 is not exactly peaceful or serene XD
I'd like something similar to Double Star from Evolution, or the Matter of Perspective theme

That means that we will also need the legendary TrekBBS poster Stewie back. I wonder if he will come out of retirement for Picard season 3 and grace these boards once again? He better behave this time though, I was an Enterprise forum Mod when we last crossed paths…:nyah:

Saw on twitter someone was comparing Riker and Picard phaser scene to the one from “Conspiracy”. Realized that would make an an awesome season 3 plot line. Good way to get the old crew back together as well.

I definitely think there's a non-zero chance of the Conspiracy bugs coming back after all these years. It's a huge loose end from TNG.

I guess the books probably did it a hundred times.

I’m getting Insurrection/Coda vibes from this. Picard and co are going to go renegade.
Maybe they’ll steal the Enterprise. The only major character missing from this announcement

the saucer was salvaged from Veridian III and is in the Starfleet Museum (Dave Blass tweeted a close-up):

That museum must be the size of a city.......would love to see that on film one day....or as the theme of a Ships of the Line calendar.
