What classic novels would you like to see adapted?

Long after TOS went off the air, the only new Trek we could get our hands on were the animated series, the (very) few movies that were out at the time, and of course, the novels from Bantam books, and later, Simon & Shuster/Pocket Books. The TOS novels under Pocket Books filled in the gaps between the shows and movies, exploring the depth and biographies of the Enterprise crew, with some of our beloved guest stars/aliens making their return.

With the new show on the horizon, as well as Kirk confirmed for season two, and to follow-up on another thread explored here, what classic novels would you like to see adapted into TV format, if any? For me, I think I would like to see Diane Carey's Final Frontier, which sees Commander George Samuel Kirk under the command of Captain Robert April in the Enterprise's first mission into Romulan space.

None. I would rather see new stories with the characters.

The only exception I would make would be for Vulcan's Glory, and only because it was written by Dorothy Fontana. It would actually be kind of appropriate to see her given posthumous screen credit on a Strange New Worlds episode.

I would love to see ideas borrowed from Vulcan's Glory, with story credit given to her. Perhaps the showrunners might find mining ideas from various novels for inspiration, even if they don't use the entire plot.

Loads!

Timetrap
Crossroad
My Enemy, My Ally
Final Frontier
Yesterday's Son (with Return to Yesterday a few seasons later)
Prime Directive (as a 3 or 4 part arc)
Chain of Attack
Bloodthirst (Halloween episode!)
How Much For Just the Planet?

And probably loads more I've forgotten.

Disco already did that with Control. Look how well that turned out.

As to the original question, I'll echo the answer: None.

To add to what you mentioned, the Dark Matter Anomaly from this past season of Discovery did feel like it shared similar ideas from Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens's Prime Directive novel.

Hell, I would be delighted if the showrunners get Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens to write for a Star Trek show again beyond season 4 of Enterprise.

The books have some good ideas and plots that SNW could mine but I also don't want them to be beholden to things that have come before. Plus there's not a great deal of stories focusing on Pike's era and I don't want to move forward to TOS too quickly. (Vanguard would be neat to see but, again, that's the TOS era.)

That said, I really really really hope they don't adapt anything from Final Frontier or Best Destiny. Diane Carey's view of Starfleet and the Federation is overly naval/nautical and USA-centric in my opinion and it doesn't reflect what we've seen elsewhere in Trek since those books were published. Also, Best Destiny already heavily inspired the Kelvin timeline.

I’m not bothered if they mine from novels for worldbuilding purposes, plots, developing character backstories, and new characters (ex. Burning Dreams, Vulcan’s Glory, Legacy, The Captain’s Oath, The Children of Kings, The Rift, Child of Two Worlds, Captain to Captain, Final Frontier, Crisis on Vulcan, etc.). Just as I’m not bothered if they mine the Early Voyages comics for the same reasons. But I’m not expecting full adaptations of these stories. I’m expecting new, original stories.
