They can't all be NCC registered, since they are below the 2000s at that point.
I’m sure that 7,000 number included shuttles and other smaller support vessels, not just starships.

Aside: the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush was commissioned in 2009 while her namesake was still alive, and there are other examples in the Navy as well - but it is relatively rare. Lots of dead naval aviators or politicians to choose from: my favorite is the "USS The Sullivans", which was named for five brothers who all died serving aboard the same ship, resulting in a Navy policy to avoid putting everyone in the same family on the same ship when possible (though the brothers had requested it).

Other navies are also available! See also – the UK's current flagship is the HMS Queen Elizabeth, and she'sborderline immortalvery much still alive.

Thanks, I did wonder; we've had a lot of Queens called Elizabeth.Wikipedia says it's named after the WWI era dreadnought, which was in turn named after Queen Elizabeth I.

A friend of mine was in the U.S. Navy and had to polish everything for inspection, and he and his team would basically be one compartment ahead of the inspecting officer to ensure it was clean.Trust me, a lot of polishing goes on aboard ships I have been on.
Stargazer bridge has a lot going for it, it's
- triple chair layout is lovely homage to Galaxy class

Plus: the return of LCARS in ship consoles a tech we haven't seen since.... Lower decks.
Con: is stark battleship gray interior, red leather chairs look "Barber shop" Where as prior had stark but still nice color, better ambient lights

We get the idea Starship is made of Metal, but this shine job really makes it look too much like laminated plastic. Too much backlighting, this is Star Trek, Not Tron. Better ambient lights diffused, carpet with brown, red, muted & earth tones.
This is the same StarFleet that programmed "Auto-Aim" on Phasers without any form of "Iron-Sites" on them.I sometimes wonder if the phaser is a "smart weapon" that can be literally set to vaporize one person at a time, and it somehow applies destructive energy to do exactly that to the exclusion of others directly adjacent.
the initial coordinates are near raffi's home, close to LA- In beaming the gang to LA, I guess they beamed them in a straight line through the planet's mass? I wonder if that significantly reduces the range?
Do we know where they crashed, and why Picard "knew" it? I was expecting it to be the chateaux.

Usually, the Stealth Aircraft / Vessels are designed with Stealth Principles (Geometric Shaping) & Radar Absorbing Materials together from the ground up, or the manufacturer doesn't even bother.Presumably her hull is, at least party, either constructed or coated in materials that are (coincidentally!) invisible to radar - either the radar beam passes through the ship, or is absorbed by it.
