What games are you playing currently?

Finished Shenmue 3. I really enjoyed the journey, but I can understand the criticisms it got regarding the ending. 18 years of waiting for answers between Shenmue 2, and they finally had a chance at answering them, but... instead they handwave it away and set up a sequel. Talk about squandering an opportunity to tie up loose ends.

I have to add the last two days I'm playing "Submerged Hidden Depths" and really it's a joy, very relaxing game, lots and lots of exploration figuring out platforming puzzles, not actual puzzles but paths, and lovely visuals. There is zero combat much like the game that came before it called Submerged and both games feature the same characters, sister and brother Miku and Taku.

If you like something really relaxing and fun try these out.

Oh, I liked the first game. Had no idea there was a sequel until I saw it advertised on Steam. Would you say there's a bit more to it this time around? The first game was rather simplified, and didn't really have all that much in terms of puzzles.

Oh there's tons more in this game, more exploration, more collectibles and you can change the appearance of the boat and Miku's clothes and hair by collecting style elements. I think if you liked the first one you will like the new one. It previously was on Stadia.

The Saboteur on the Xbox 360.

Always fun torturing Nazis in various fashion.
Oh man, I loved The Saboteur. Such a fun game.

I'm now about 15 hours into Cyberpunk 2077 and I'm enjoying myself. I might start Ghostwire: Tokyo tomorrow.

Oh man, I loved that game. Looks even better on PC with the res cranked up. It's such a unique take on the genre, and I'm sad that we won't be getting a sequel. There's one song that got into my head that sounds so much like the Super Mario Brothers 2 theme. The melody is so familiar.

All I could find out is that it's a modern take from a period-style song, rather one from the period.

Speaking of old games, I've been playing Sin Gold, and Omikron. Old games tend to be so glitchy on newer systems though. Had to give up on Sin Gold though when I couldn't find a way to escape the chemical factory. The grate that you're supposed to escape with doesn't end up appearing and I'd tried multiple times.

OMG someone else is playing Sin .... I thought I was odd for liking that one. I remember when it was brand new stores had life sized standups of the main baddy to promote the game. I snagged one of those when it was no longer needed, but that was a long time ago. I do remember when it came time to bin that the sight of a woman's leg sticking out the garbage bin lol.. If you didn't know it was flat foam board you would have thought dire things were afoot.

I got my copy off GOG and also Two Worlds epic edition. Today I got Prey now that was a fun game but it's a shame we never got any kind of sequel to that. Does anyone know the story behind that game and why it had no sequel?

Heh, well it was quite popular at the time, but sometimes some games are just too old to work properly. I hear there's a remastered version of the game coming out and done by Nightdive Studios, perhaps next year.

I've played Two Worlds too! Despite the jank, even. There are sometimes games so bad you can't help but be curious about them and play them anyway. :D I kind of missed those things from the sequel, to be honest.

As for Prey, do you mean the newer one set on the Space Station? Or the older one? I never played the original one, but the newer one was pretty great, and I loved the whole aspect of being able to get out into space and float around with the space suit.

Another game I've been playing lately is a small indie gem called Intergalactic Fishing. It's basically a fishing RPG, and it's pretty fun. Looks simple, but the gameplay is pretty deep and involved. You can even craft your own lures.

Yes that Prey, the one on the space station, there's a long story about it and how they had wanted a sequel but something happened and it's a bit convoluted about why it never happened. I haven't really dived into Two Worlds much but it's a funny story with hints of incest isn't it? That whole thing about the girl being super hot and his sister or something.

Kind of funny how either game never got sequels. I remember when there was talk of the first game getting a sequel that never happened, and then years later this remake in a totally different setting was made. There isn't really all that in common between them.

It definitely was overshadowed, mostly because other big releases came out at around the same time. But it does have a cult following. I never played it back then, and was curious to check it out recently.

Speaking of Prey I am starting a whole new game on that since I didn't realize there is a New Game+ mode.
This is going to be fun. I'm doing that and Dishonored 1. Also it runs so smoothly at 1080p high with just an APU

I loved the first Dishonored, but my PC is just not up to spec to play the sequel. Which is too bad because I really got into Dishonored and wanted to continue on to the sequel while the first game was still fresh in my mind.

I just discovered face masks that look like the one Emily wears...But they are like 50$ or such on Etsy.

That live action trailer for Dishonored 2 could have been a movie trailer and made me yearn for a movie set in this world..

Ohh, that's a great idea! I loved the setting of the games, and the art style of the first game being reminiscent of oil paintings, and I think a movie would be quite interesting.

DC Universe Online. Never touched this game until recently. Now I can't put it down. So many customization options for your character and getting missions from the main heroes or villains really adds to the immersion.
