People don't mourn in the future.
But I'm Quinton, and I'm in the present! And I mourn now! Who mourns for Morn? Everybody. Who mourns for Zhaban? Me and me alone, if I have to! Eddie's got my back.
People don't mourn in the future.
I'm sure Zhaban appreciates this. But I'm Quinton, and I'm in the present! And I mourn now! Who mourns for Morn? Everybody. Who mourns for Zhaban? Me and me alone, if I have to! Eddie's got my back.
Very nice overall, although I really hope it doesn't "fall apart" like Season 1 felt like it did. That started with a great first episode (or few episodes) too.
But grr, no mention of Beverly Crusher by name - do you think she was the one who really got away/was let go in his conversation with Guinan?
I have friends for decades that we no longer speak now. Life moves in very different directions.Picard's romantic undertones, they had been friends for decades and it just seems odd she is no longer involved in her life.
He wasn't meant to fail, but it wouldn't be a test if it was easy.I think it's pretty clear Picard was meant to have failed here. He sat by passively while a firefight broke out on the bridge, and missed the obvious cues that the Borg Queen was not hostile (only firing once fired upon, and only stunning). Seven's admonishment that Picard should blow up the ship should not have been listened to.
Alternatively, it's possible the Queen sent them back in time, rather than Q doing it.
II think folks are missing the fact that it was Laris hitting on Picard, not really the other way around
Also, She was the one who stated that Romulans grieve their love-loss by wholeheartedly embracing a new one.
Weird. No human does that.think folks are missing the fact that it was Laris hitting on Picard, not really the other way around.
Also, She was the one who stated that Romulans grieve their love-loss by wholeheartedly embracing a new one.
My impression was that’s Picard mother. I hope I’m wrong.Hedging my early-season bets here - the Borg Queen's got a weird mask on because she's Seven or Jurati.
Don't ask me how.
Don't ask me why.
For the love of god, don't ask me if I like the idea.
But here we are.
you didn’t know the heroes would save the galaxy already anyway?Fking hate that Discovery have done this.
And also very Jurati. Totally works for me.Actually I love that they actually mention that she did face a judicial system. As for her joke about it, many people use inappropriate humor to deal with situations they are uncomfortable with. That's very human
is she much younger, though? Romulans age at a much slower pace, she could be 100 for all we know.But... is it really that crazy to pass on dating your much younger employee?
by the way, did they say in season one they were married? I remembered them as being friends…Who's been happily married to someone else every time we've seen her?
ah, they were deltans! Missed that, but it makes sense! Also, fun cameo from the Deltans! That's a race I always thought should pop up more.
yes, but they disagreed on the course to take and Rios totally ignored picard’s preferred course of action…and Picard just stood there doing nothing. That's not uncommon in real life or in Star Trek. The Admirals usually let the captain's do what they need to do until their input is necessary.
and the default countdown is now only 10 seconds! Why have a countdown at all then?!Glad to see Starfleet keeps its self-destruct countdown codes pretty simple. The ranking officer's name plus the numbers and words from both TOS and TSFS.![]()
I noticed, I still don’t like it.Well if you notice, he never lights it, it's actually never lit at all in the entire episode. I think it's just a comfort for him, a tick.
of course not, but he is supposedly in command of the fleet and should be the one dictating policies, with the captains and other officers commanding the ships within those policies. Also, apparently any Starfeet admiral can order the self-distruct of any ship, apparently!Being a flag officer doesn't mean he is command of the ship at the time.
I noticed, either they waited a bit to lift the ban officially (makes sense, politics take time) or Zhaban died while Picard was in space in season one. Still, I feel they should have went with 3/4 years. Especially as it seems really too soon for Elnor to get an assignment.Zhaban died a year and a half prior, so more than a year passed. It's just only been a year since the synth ban has ended.
romulans don’t, apparently.People don't mourn in the future.
I stopped watching Discovery a few episodes ago, because it was getting too monotonous and tedious. Just watched this one while I had lunch, and this was phenomenal! We had a build with some disappointing moments in Season 1, but this looks like the TNG follow up I wanted. Going to watch it again tonight for my more detailed watch, but that was really enjoyable.Wow, an episode where things actually happen! After this season of Disco I'd forgotten what that was like.
I noticed that too…actually freezes to check, but I was not 100% sure it was.SOVEREIGN CLASS for the first time on the small screen!
Stands to reason. Also, apparently any Starfeet admiral can order the self-distruct of any ship, apparently!
Odd thing to assume.romulans don’t, apparently.
I noticed that too…actually freezes to check, but I was not 100% sure it was.
Ross Class actually.Andromeda
That ship behind the Stargazer is a Reliant Class. And that isn't an Obena, the nacelles and pylons are all wrongI tried labelling, I think this is the fleet:
Ross Class actually.
