Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

She apologized and we don't need to keep micro-analyzing what she said. It was dumb but she didn't intend any harm from it and the longer we try to turn this into something more than just a celebrity sticking her foot in her mouth the more we're going to look back on it and wish we'd just let bygones be bygones.
Cool! That's your opinion, and you're welcome to it but other might disagree. That being said, this thread is about Picard discussions and while Goldberg is a part of the season, perhaps another thread can be started to debate this (if it hasn't already) and this thread can get back to general Picard discussions.

For now. I think a lot of international fans will only believe this when they see it… I mean after the whole “Disco got pulled from Netflix internationally right before it was supposed to premiere” snafu… ;)
True, the Discovery fiasco has definitely left me wary. Amazon Prime doesn't have any trailers or promos for Picard S2 yet, and we're only a month from its launch - they had the trailer up for S1 by this point pre-launch. So I'm hoping nothing changes, but I won't trust it just yet!

Yup, it could still turn into the same kind of disaster. I have, however, seen some Amazon Prime versions of the b/w promo poster with Jean-Luc and Q. At least that. But yeah, who knows. I mean with season 1 Prime had this massive promo campaign all over Europe with turning Picadilly Circus into Picardilly Circus and all. I get that this would not be possible now because pandemic but the lack of promo stuff is a little unnerving. Netflix was the same with Disco, after all - they didn’t promote the show’s fourth season at all and then suddenly it was gone from there.

Honestly speaking, I can understand what she was trying to say. She just didn't say it well and as she clarified later, she should have said the Holocaust was about mans' inhumanity to man and race.

There is a difference here. Neither Netflix or the official Star Trek account was promoting that Discovery Season 4 would be on before release Netflix. They were deadly silent on the issue until a day before the news broke.

CBS and Amazon are doing both promoting Picard Season 2 on Prime.

Amazon tweeted about Season 2 coming to prime a few weeks ago. There’s Picard season 2 trailers on Amazon YouTube channels.

This trailer was uploaded last week. UK Amazon prime YouTube channel

It’s still nowhere near the promotion they did for season 1 even though that was admittedly different due to the fact that the pandemic hadn’t really started just yet. I can’t blame my fellow international folks for being cautious tho. Even the Disco actors had said the show would be on Netflix, there was a convention in the UK only days before launch and then… nothing (not the actors’ fault of course they didn’t know either). This sort of thing can fall apart in no time. For now it looks like as if everything is in place tho, and maybe P+ has indeed learned to be a little more careful, who knows. The fan backlash over the Netflix debacle was VERY fierce. I can’t imagine them wanting the same thing with Amazon now.

It's also possible the cost to take it off amazon is too much compared to Netflix.
Or the Amazon deal doesn't have any way to escape it lmao. But I doubt it.

Could be multiple reasons.

Bezos is a MASSIVE fan of TNG and Jean-Luc in particular. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that he personally found multiple ways to make sure the show stays on Prime internationally. ;)
