have to say.... a little disappointed to see the initial offerings, but understand why they are coming out with the TOS ENT, phaser, and figure selections that have been done to death. I would understand more if they were planning to release things we haven't yet seen (Disco Phaser, USS Discovery/Shenzhou, legacy ships like Defiant, Voyager or NX-01. and what about our wants for a Mark IX / Mark X Tricorder?

I keep looking at the TOS Enterprise and phaser and wonder if they are the same molds as the 90s playmates offerings? I have a MIB TOS playmates phaser and tricorder that was gifted from an uncle. I will have to see if I can dig them up...

An electronic Enterprise Starship with lights, sounds, and MULTIPLE BUTTONS instead of just one? Aww shoot! That right there is my JAM! Everyone should get this Enterprise and we'll have a torpedo party in this house!

I do have one question about the TOS phaser... How do we press the trigger if it's that far away from the grip?

StarTrek.com has a first look at the upcoming figures.
We're getting 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,' 'The Next Generation,' 'Discovery', a 21 inch TOS Enterprise with lights and sound, and a TOS phaser replica.
Edit - Beaten to the punch.

The Enterprise model is going to be 21 inches?! That's pretty big for a Trek toy replica.

Very surprised on the character selection aside from Data, Burnham and Saru. But very happy to see we are getting an articulated Kirk in the monster maroons and the first playmates Spock in the same uniform.

scale wise, a bit disappointed they can’t drop a half inch so they will be comparable with the old line. But it’s close enough.

I’ll pass on the ship and phaser for sure. But price pending (can’t imagine they will be 7-8 bucks like the old line), I’ll get all the figures for sure.

I'll be curious to see how they line up in terms of size. Scaling is always a weird game in figures.

Also, sweetness on the phaser and Enterprise! That's more cool than the figures.

The ship and phaser just look like re-issues of what they sold back in the 90's. Even the sticker on the power selection wheel on the phaser looks exactly the same.

The action figures look dope, though.

I was always disappointed with the lack of love the TOS movie era got from Playmates. We have child Guinan from "Rascals" and Reginald Barcaly with a Kung-Fu grip...but no Scotty in an Engineering radiation suit? No Sybok? No Kirk in landing party jacket? No crew in civillian clothing (Trek III and IV)?

    C'mon man...that's semi-pro.

They look... A bit rubbish? But prototypes often do, so I'll wait and see. I like the sound of the retro packaging. Hopefully this means they'll look close in scale with the original 4.5" line. At least the bizarre V-crotch is gone.

The TOS Enterprise and phaser look like the original 90s moulds, which is pretty cool, but DST/Art Asylum did significantly better versions of both, so... On the plus side I guess it means they might reissue some harder to find items from the original line, like the USS Voyager and the TNG tricorders. How about that unproduced Cardassian warship?

I'll probably be in for Burnham and Saru, but will wait and see on the rest.

The headsculpts look a little less cartoony than the old figures, but the hands seem weirdly awkward. And why does Khan have Torgo legs? Hope that’s just bad posing.

They definitely look like Playmates Trek figs, which is kinda nifty. But with so many of the old ones available cheap, I wonder how much demand there will be for previously issued characters. Will people buy slightly updated takes on the TNG crew?

I don’t get the negativity. These look amazing. They went back to the basics with these figures. I can’t wait, and hope these do well enough that we get loads more in the future.

Yeah, looking again I take back "rubbish", that's not fair.

They do look pretty good, and I'm happy that they're filling a couple of gaps in the original line (proper TWOK Kirk and Spock) plus Burnham and Saru. Looking forward to seeing the packaging! Hope they are available in the UK.

I think you could say they more or less dropped the ball when it came to the main crew in all of the movie lines not just TOS. Some was their fault like doing the original crew in the TMP uniforms not the Monster Maroons or the First Contact figures being the bigger scale. Others weren’t like the uniform switch for Generations.

I never actually got the TOS Enterprise, but I always remember the box art and photos had the inexplicable red "1701-D" on the nacelles.

For the figures... I don't know, it doesn't seem right to see Riker without his uniform all torn up.

I understand them doing the TMP uniforms for characters (strangely no Scotty or Chekov though) because there was enough variation in those uni's for it to look cool. The Monster Maroons don't translate as well to an action figure line, because it's basically just the same figure with a different head on it (or so it would look at first glance).

I think if you did a MM line, you'd need to use uniform variants that we saw. Put Kirk in his bomber jacket. Put McCoy in the white medical smock. Scotty in the radiation suit, etc.

Then do a second line of figures with all the various looks we saw in TVH, which would be awesome.

Yeah doing everyone but Scotty and Checkov in the TMP uniforms was odd. But even then, never doing them in the maroons was odd even if you sprinkled them around other waves. They may not have been as visually different but they did wear them in 5 of the 6 TOS movies.

These figures are better than I'd hoped. Close to the 90s scale but with improved articulation. Hopefully close enough in size that they'll blend reasonably well.

I hope they sell well enough that the line will keep going for a while.

Wasn't that some of the logic behind the 09 figures, where ironically, Chekov and Scotty were once again excluded from being in the main uniforms and instead placed in cadet garb? Then I believe in the cancelled second wave they were supposed to be in there Enterprise uniforms.

I like the look of them, but I'm annoyed about the scale.

I'm sure I'll buy them anyway.
