Things that frustrate us all

They're also the worst of the worst of backyard breeders and puppy mills...

Over the last 15 years I've adopted 3 older dogs from ASPCA raids on Amish farms, and though two of them recovered eventually and became very sweet, loving dogs, one just could not adapt and she remained so nervous and fearful - just constant shaking and hypervigilance for years - that I don't think she ever had a single moment of true happiness or peace.

Even with my vet, a trainer, a behaviorist, and a canine psychopharmacologist she just couldn't be calm or accept the love and kindness we tried to give her, and I'm heartbroken to this day when I think of what she went through.
Yikes, now I even more of a reason not to like them.

Oh my god, we have a person behind us is constantly firing off fireworks, even when it's not a holiday or anything. The way they do it is really annoying too, instead of just firing them all off at once, they'll fire off one or two, wait like 10 or 20 minutes, then fire off one or two more, and they'll do this for several hours.

A Christmas present I ordered was supposed to arrive yesterday. It didn't, so I checked the tracking. Apparently, Canada Post, in their infinite wisdom, decided that my package, which originated in Quebec, and is to be delivered to me in Ontario, should be routed via... Alberta.

For those of you not familiar with Canadian geography:

I don't think it's getting here by Christmas.

Guess what finally arrived today. :borg:

Fair enough. But most of the time it's just fun memes that are calling out an anonymous person who abused a wage employee. I've never seen it rise to the level of doxxing or anything like that, but when it does, you're absolutely right.

In the case of memes, it's no different than a kids TV show having the kid who's a bully get slimed at the end. Maybe make the next person think twice before they demand a waiter get fired for forgetting the ketchup.

Amen, Santalorian - I started working at 15 in a little Italian deli/grocery store, then moved on as a server & cater/waiter during college and grad school, and the number of times people were ridiculously rude and obnoxious because of, say, the price of prosciutto, or because I wouldn't let their underage kid have a beer, was too many to count !

There have always been rude and entitled people - this behavior isn't new, certainly - but now that they're being filmed left and right at least there's a public awareness of just how badly those in customer service positions are treated.

I don't want anyone to be doxxed, either, but if you're leaping over a counter to screech at some poor kid who isn't even old enough to drive because they can't accept a Pizza Hut coupon at Little Caesar's then you probably deserve what you get

I wish. New Year revelers around here celebrate with gunfire. Whoever has got the loudest gun has the biggest...

Oh, man - those morons need to be knocked into next week and have their guns taken away, and I say that as a gun owner !

Stray and falling bullets kill people, and NYE is prime time for it, unfortunately - nothing like a bunch of drunk assholes shooting indiscriminately to "celebrate"...

Stray and falling bullets kill people, and NYE is prime time for it, unfortunately -

Yeah, we have those in Phoenix too. :censored:

It's funny though, I have lived here under new year bullet showers for decades and, knock on wood, have never suffered any losses, damage or even found a slug anywhere on my property. And believe me, I look every year hoping to find a souvenir. Never! Nix! Nill! Nothing! WTF!

PHAC has been recommending for months now that we should be "upping our mask game" and switching to N95 masks over the non-medical masks we are currently wearing. But it's virtually impossible to walk into a store and actually get any. The advice is valid, but if it's not possible to actually take the recommendation, then it's not really very helpful.

Just returned from a new year's break with the family, had a great weekend but when did some young people start being so lazy? my niece who is 30 (so not that young really ), seems to think the nearest available surface is the right place to leave glasses, mugs, plates etc, all the time while never lifting a finger In the kitchen or doing literally anything unless it was for herself.

unfortunately her mum and grandma seemed happy to pick up behind her which probably doesn't help.

I get mine from Amazon.

I've been wary of buying random masks from Amazon since I read this article earlier in the year.

My first batch came from the local Dymon Storage storefront in Ottawa. They're selling batches of 20 in-store, and of 100 online.

Thank you. I haven't heard of them before, but I will try to look up their website and see what brand they sell!
