So in season 1 of Picard, characters from TNG and Voyager have shown up, so in future seasons should characters from Deep Space 9 show up?

Captain Sisko is with the prophets and I think Avery Brooks quit acting and Dukat is dead, but the rest of the characters are still around. Quark is the only Deep Space 9 character mentioned recently.

• Bashir: Michael Chabon asked online if he would be a good fit for the series.
• Garak: the way he could challenge Picard would put Q to shame. Moreover, Garak would put a great spy character into the series.
• Benny Russell: Brooks has floated the idea of returning to Trek at least once kn the last ten years. This was his favorite role in the series. It would be an interesting way for Picard to interact with Brooks.

Really hoping that they do something with Bashir and Garak if we get any of the DS9 crew in PIC. I'd like to see them play off each other one last time.

Also, O'Brien is the most important Starfleet figure in all of known history. We need more context in how that came to be.

Aside from O'Brien's dead end job (chronicled by https://chiefobrienatwork.com/), there was the broken shoulder in Transfigurations, hijacked by an alien lifeform and forced to take his wife hostage, missing his child's birth, and then suffered his wife devolving to the body of a 12 year old girl

Eh...O'Brien had terrible luck on TNG too. The whole meme probably became more obvious because he was a lead character rather than a highly successful secondary character with occasional storylines given to him.
