So about how many Jedi were around during the OT?

Keep in mind that just because they survived 66 doesn't mean they were still alive by 0BBY.

And going further, I suspect the number of Jedi still alive post-Endor is probably less than 10.
Post endor the number was one.

But could Yoda contact/feel all the other Jedi?
I don't take that line to serious, because I don't find him that wize of great Jedi Master

He clearly felt them when they were being slaughtered during order 66.
[/QUOTE

I think he felt them die because they died at the same time, It was a great disturbance in the force.

If Yoda isn't the most wise Jedi, then who is?

Qui gon Jinn?
Yoda let the order stagnate during the last years of the old Republic, and failed to notice the Sith Lord across the table.

And I don't think It was wise to have a Grand master for life, no one should have that much power for so long

Huge disagree there. Qui Gon Jinn said that young Obi Wan Kenobi was a wiser man than him. A padawan learner was more wise than a master with much more experience in the force. So....no. Not even close.

And both Qui Gon and Obi Wan were on the same landing platform as Palpatine and never noticed his Sith presence. NO ONE saw who Palpatine was his entire time serving in the senate nor during his time as Chancellor. The power of the dark side allowed him to hide in plain sight until he came out and told Anakin who he was. So that's hardly an indictment on Yoda alone.

I'm not familiar with Yoda having the title Grand master as that was never mentioned in the movies(I haven't seen every episode of Clone Wars nor read the EU). He was simply called Master Yoda. The Jedi council always came across as a collective body where every member had an equal voice and vote. In fact during TPM he looked over to Mace Windu when it came to testing Anakin.

During his in the senate and as Chancellor Palpatine probably came into contact with dozens of Jedi, and none of them had any idea he was Sidious.

"Palpatine is Sidious? I must speak to the council at once!"

"The council? What is it?"

"It is the governing body of the Jedi to which Anakin holds a seat but was not granted the rank of Master. But that's not important right now."

Obi-Wan. Yoda. Vader is a former Jedi turned Sith Lord. Ahsoka is still alive but left the Order before the end of the Clone Wars. That's at least four current or former Jedi still alive at the time ANH gets underway.

And both Qui Gon and Obi Wan were on the same landing platform as Palpatine and never noticed his Sith presence.
Boy, the Jedi Order are going to regret excommunicating all Jedi masters who wished to study the Dark side to understand it during the High Republic era, aren't they? Yoda was there when that happened.

Well, Luke did say in TLJ that sheer fucking hubris was what led to the Jedi Order's downfall.

Well, he might not have used that exact term.

As far as I can think, definitely Luke, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Ahsoka and Cal Kestis. I'd bet money Mace Windu is around somewhere too

How cocky and full of hubris were the Jedi to have the Sith Master in their very midst for 13 years and not realize it until the very end and when it's too late to defeat him? They were so confident of their own control over the Force and good intentions that they basically allowed the Old Republic to crumble beneath them and aided and abetted the enemy in doing so.

I tend to think Sidious also knew enough about the Force to hide some of his activities, since the Jedi would have killed him much earlier if he was so easily detected.
