What threads from other Star Trek shows do you want Strange New Worlds to pick up?

For some reason or another, I've been entertaining the idea that an appearance by Flint the Immortal, as played by Tim Daly in a nod to the role originated by his father James Daly, would be an interesting story.

In his appearance in TOS, Flint has been living on that planet for some time, like several hundred years. So I don't see any way he could turn up in SNW. Nobody will meet him until "Requiem for Methuselah".

Recasting a guy in his 20s as a guy in his 30s ten years earlier is kinda obvious.

I just read the episode transcript from 'Chrissy's Transcript Site' and there's nothing to say he'd been living on the planet several hundred years.

The transcript says that a Mr. Brack purchased the planet thirty years ago and that Flint had left Earth to escape certain pressures; and there's no way Flint could have left Earth before the invention of warp drive in 2063.

So, the planet might have been purchased thirty years before the episode, but not settled for sometime after that, and Flint would need the time to build the structure and create Rayna's one through sixteen; a run in with Mr. Brack/Flint is a possibility.

Oh, I think he could have managed.

Flint is probably the smartest and most resourceful human being who ever lived. He could have left Earth whenever it suited his whims.

Being immortal, Flint would have access to technologies that other humans could only have dreamt of; hell, he might have even invented warpdrive before Cochrane himself did!

Lots of great suggestions I've seen already. Here are some I would like to see:
...
-T'Pol and Soval.
....
snip

I would love ENT characters, especially T'Pol, Shran and Phlox and storylines to be involved with SNW.
Isn't Vulcan Earth Ambassador Soval dead due to the bombings on Vulcan?

....United Earth Space Probe Agency (UESPA)...would be fun....
That would be indeed awesome to have that story arc included in some shapes and forms.

yeah no since the actor is a massive dickhead
So he played his role convincingly then.

I think that it would be beneficial to use the various criticisms levied at Enterprise over the years to strengthen character development for the supporting cast.

Example 1

Crewman 1: Archer failed upwards in his career.
Crewman 2: *gasps*How could you say that?!? Archer’s a Federation hero!
Crewman 1: For one, he rarely listened to his first officer.

Example 2

Crewman 1: I think Archer’s bridge crew should have been promoted.
Crewman 2: They were. In a couple of cases, multiple times over.
Crewman 1: *awkward silence*… it should have happened faster. Particularly when Archer was captain.
Crewman 2: That’s not how it worked back then.

Example 3

Crewman 1: I love the interiors of the NX class, but its exterior was too sleek for its time. I prefer the Daedalus class and the XCV-300 Enterprise designs more.
Crewman 2: For the umpteenth time, there was nothing wrong with its exterior. It’s a beautiful ship inside and out. Can't imagine a better design.

It would be quite meta.

While he’s not from a previous show, ‪‪I’d like to see Keenser from ST 09, Into Darkness & Beyond, or rather, the Prime Timeline Keenser, in SNW.

Maybe in the Prime Timeline his and Scotty’s time on the Enterprise didn’t overlap.

Anyway, he has a really great alien design (love his eyes). With Shlerms, serving in StarFleet on Discovery this season, who first appeared in Beyond, making the crossover from film to television, and as a Kelvin original making its way to the Prime timeline, there’s now precedence for this kind of sharing of unique resources between the newest movies and current TV series.
