What games are you playing currently?

I've not really had a chance to play much of Far Cry 6, but I think I'm going to quit until they patch it. So, I clear out an outpost. I'm going around ransacking it. I move 20 feet, then all of a sudden, all the enemies have respawned. So, I go and clear them out. Then, all the enemies have respawned where I just left. So, I decide to leave. I commandeer a truck. Another truck spawns right behind me, pelting me with bullets. I heal, get out and take care of that truck. Get back in my truck. ANOTHER truck spawns shooting at me. I take care of that one. YET ANOTHER truck spawns. I die.

I have no problem with enemies respawning, but DAMN, let me leave the area first! I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but it's literally like these goons are beaming down right in front of my eyes.

I recently downloaded the medium, it's truly stunning graphically, quite atmospheric too - and "free" on the Xbox monthly download thingy.

Dude WTF? Theres a PS5 version.

I didn’t get to play it yet and picked up the Game of the Year edition with all the DLC for $30. Plus my oldest son has my PS4 in Utah, so it isn’t readily available.

I love the new consoles backwards compatibility features.

I beat Guardians of the Galaxy earlier today. Man, that a pleasant surprise this game has been. The game sort of came out of nowhere. That first trailer just did not appeal to me at all. And then it just came out. The reviews were really positive and after watching the first hour of the game on YouTube I decided to buy it. And I'm really glad I did because I really enjoyed it. The gameplay is fun (especially once you get more abilities). I also really liked the story and especially the characters. The dialogue in this game is top notch. So yeah, if anyone is on the fence about this game, I strongly urge you to play it. :)

Started with Age of Empires 4

Gameplay wise so far nothing new and groundbreaking if you ever played an Empires game. Basebuilding, upgrading buildings and troops and the rock/paper/scissors combat formula - might seem outdated to some but it works and as the saying goes don't change a running system.

The production value however is superb, it's a history lesson wrapped around a game ( you start off with William the Conqueror). Videos, a commentator explaining the history, maps - the whole thing. Really good and actually entertaining ( i know most of the general history of that era but it was nice to get it presented that way).

Huge Dilemma though - in a week Jurassic Park 2 is coming out and i have still a sh.. load of other games and interests to occupy my time. Well, i'll have to quit my dayjob then ( sucks at the moment anyway)

Start streaming on twitch/youtube and make money that way? ;)

I keep trying to get into Super Mario Maker 2. I know there’s great content there but the game makes it so hard to filter to content you want.

My skill level is somewhere in between the ones called “Normal” and “Hard”. Normal is easy to the point of being boring and Hard is all dumping you into crowded chaos, unforseeable and pixel perfect jumps and not enough lives available to figure them out.

Course world has no real labels of any kind to filter on.

Why isn’t there any option for “Give me levels just a little harder than the official ones that have been curated for quality”?

Doom Eternal. I nearly broke my controller and quit last night during a platforming section in the second level but came back to it later and finally got past it. Took over an hour. Now I'm on the 7th mission. There's been a couple more irritating platforming sections since, but nothing as bad as that bit in level 2. I do not look forward to facing more Marauders.

Unfortunately this is not playing nice with my mouse and keyboard so I'm playing with a controller. And on easy mode. I usually play games to relieve my anxiety issues but I think this game may be exacerbating them:lol:

Insurance owes me a bunch of video games from my house burning down so I may get Billy and the Clonosaurus: Evolution 2 but I'm waiting for actual reviews as it doesn't look like it solved the issues of the first one, and just upscaled graphics for a lot of it. The fact they didn't give review copies (except to select YouTubers) until after release doesn't fill me with confidence either.

Heavy rain, the characters are interesting except for the father Ethan I don't like him.

Jason!! Jason!! Where are you, Jason?!!

What I don't like about these games is the control scheme. It just feels like limited potential as everything needs to be so precise when it comes to certain timings and actions, and the windows to alternate endings feel very narrow.

I agree and the gameplay is terrible, i play It on the pc. But the ditective storyline is interesting so far

Yeah, the detective story was one of the best, but again due to the way these games play, it was more frustrating than it needed to be. It's too bad because the stories that come out of this studio have so much potential. They'd be better fit as games with open-ended exploration that would allow one to explore at one's own pace.

Have you made it to the glass maze yet? That was one of the most excruciating parts of the game.

I was playing Townscaper and CK3. It's always tricky to adjust the time scale of CK3 from Cities Skylines. Things go so quick even if one has control of the time game clock in the corner of CK3. I was playing Iceland (or rather, Western Iceland) and actually made a Jarldom of it but always ran out of money :(
