Section 31: I hope it still happens.

They can classify what the organization did, but enough people knew about its existence that I find it hard to believe it was just completely forgotten. Especially when there was a certain half-Vulcan-half-human Starfleet officer aboard the Enterprise who was still very much alive during the DS9 era who knew all about them. YMMV.

And? Was Spock aware of their actions?

For me, in this instance, it is believable enough to work that after the control debacle 31 was disavowed allowing for a reorganization and quiet regrouping.
Section 31 might be a good idea if you think Fruit Roll-ups are a healthy snack alternative.
Hardly. It's a show not nutrition.

Not if you actually watched the show. Spock was well aware of the organization's existence, as was everyone else on both the Enterprise and the Discovery, because at the very least, both ships were being attacked by Section 31 vessels.

I was not clear. I meant in the DS9 era. Of course he new in the early part of his career.

OK, it has been established that S31 is a very secret organization at the time of DS9, and not so secretive during seasons 1 & 2 of Discovery. Based on interviews with Kurtzman, one of the goals of the S31 series was to explain this discrepancy (assuming events of Discovery season 2 were not enough to force S31 underground). And I believe that was intention, as these are the same people who felt the need to explain why Spock never mentioned his sister.

Was everyone on the Discovery aware of section 31? Yes of course, as I stated above the ship was commissioned by Section 31 and that's evidenced by all the security with the black Section 31 badges running around.

Was everyone on the USS Enterprise aware of section 31? I would say no. Yes Captain Pike and his Command Staff were most definitely aware, but the rank-and-file crew members on the ship probably not bye. Remember that bike wasn't even initially aware that the Philippa Georgiou he was interacting with was from the Mirror Universe. Starfleet command had floated the cover story that she had survived the battle of the binary Stars, was just injured and had recovered. Pike knew something was off about Georgiou because he had been her classmate at the Academy. That said there was an on-screen discussion between him and Burnham, where Burnham promise to explain everything; and by his later actions the audience is left to assume that she did so, but again before that even Captain Christopher Pike was not fully aware of everything going on. That said as he was tasked to temporarily command the USS discovery, one can be certain that he was at least informed that it was crewed by elements of Section 31, and during the whole control situation, we can again assume he at least informed his senior staff on the Enterprise. How many other crew members knew is definitely Up For Debate, but I doubt every crew member on the Enterprise was aware of the full situation.

That's like assuming because Sisko and his senior staff had Direct dealings with section 31 on Deep Space Nine oh, that every single Federation officer that was assigned to Deep Space Nine knew exactly 31 was, and thus had knowledge of it, but given how we've seen certain Missions play out oh, that wouldn't be how Starfleet operates. In fact we get a good idea as to how Starfleet compartmentalizes information in the TNG S7 episode, Lower Decks.

Indeed. The assumption that because the heroes know all crewmembers know, when we,as the audience, are seeing the exceptional stories for the adventure. Section 31 slowly fades, and regroups, with their existence neither confirmed nor denied.

Season 2 of Disco did end with the whole "we hereby erase all of these past two seasons from the official record, thus fixing Canon" thing, which seems to be the Go To Explanation for how Section 31 went from common knowledge at that time to no one's heard of it by DS9.

Except for Spock, of course.

Spock may tgunk/was told it was disbanded after Disco S2. And nothing since has informed him of its reintegration.
It was a secret in Enterprise Era, by 2255 it was an out in the open section, maybe seen as a dirty jobs section of Starfleet intelligence.
After Disco S2 it looks to have been publicly disbanded, but in reality was reformed as secret again. And either remained secret, or occasionally poped up in the open, only to be disbanded and reformed again.
Wouldn't mind if they did like a 3 movie series a year like Sherlock for S31. A series? Meh.

Pretty much, yes. Those who had experience with it, like Spock, would have no reason to think otherwise.
