It's definitely an electronic display screen. Good!
Why does that part of the bridge dome glow then, a light?
TrekCore pointed this out, the Archimedes Ensign points at the Cerritos arrival similar to Boimler pointing at the Titan in Season 1.
Also I guess this Episode establishes that the Cerritos viewscreen isn't a window?
Why does that part of the bridge dome glow then, a light?
I know that. But all the productions seem to be putting actual windows there these days. The viewscreen is not a window. Its a holographic display (much like we've seen in 'The Year of Hell' how Voyager's front section bridge viewscreen had a hologrid behind it - aka, inside the hull).
If a enemy hacks your computer system, you don't want them to be able to press a button or remote activate a function to automatically strip your vessel of your external armored hull plating. One thing I didn't agree with was that the crew had to detach the hull plates manually. That should have been possible to acomplish remotely (aka control from the bridge).
And Mike McMahon is sticking with the traditional Holographic View Screens.I know that. But all the productions seem to be putting actual windows there these days.
And that section glows in almost all the exterior shots like other windows.
Yet the Enterprise-D destruction was due to Klingons hacking Geordi's VISOR to obtain the Shield Frequencies.Enemies don't hack computers. Even if they did Security would still fail.
I agree and I'm not even a huge Kirk fan.Beckett comparing herself to Kirk irked me alot. She is nothing like Kirk. After 2 seasons, she still is the most irksome character I have ever seen on any tv show. How she is still in starfleet amazes me.
Tendi & Rutherford need to just become a couple already and shag.Speaking of emotions, Rutherford keeping 3 copies of Tendi meories... awww.
Two times? That's it?Yet the Enterprise-D destruction was due to Klingons hacking Geordi's VISOR to obtain the Shield Frequencies.
Even on ST:VOY, there were the 3 former Borg Drones that tried to hack Voyagers Computer, but security caught them.
Even when B'lanna was dealing with her "Ex", they were trying to hack Voyagers systems using techniques that B'lanna taught him.Two times? That's it?
Fair enough point. But, security always fails so it doesn't surprise me that they have vulnerabilities.Even when B'lanna was dealing with her "Ex", they were trying to hack Voyagers systems using techniques that B'lanna taught him.
If a enemy hacks your computer system, you don't want them to be able to press a button or remote activate a function to automatically strip your vessel of your external armored hull plating.
That's a HUGE security vulnerability that you've just created.
I think it's wiser for that to be a manual process that is labor intensive and requires the entire crew.
The amount of scenarios that comes up where you need to strip hull plating is statistically small / rare.
So having that as a automated function isn't really important and worth implementing.
And Mike McMahon is sticking with the traditional Holographic View Screens.
