Spoilers The Ships of Lower Decks

Per Mike McMahan on Twitter: It is the USS Archimedes, an Obena class ship.
Okay, a quick online research (aka Google) reveals Obena is a real-life Human name that is known from people living in Wyoming, North America.

Archimedes is an ancient Greek mathematician and inventor. In the expanded universe, several ships have been named USS Archimedes. It's most recent appearance was the DSC novel Die Standing.

Makes sense. There are probably enough fundamental core differences between the Excelsior and this new "Obena"-type to warrant a whole new class name (I still like to think the TMP refit is referred to as "Enterprise" class for this reason - see the TWOK Simulator scene :p). The visible similarities we see are generally cosmetic in nature and are likely only skin-deep.

I gotta say this new ship, aside from the contemporary nacelles, is a JJ-Prise version of the Excelsior design -- i.e. select tool --> enlarge x4. It doesn't look like a bigger ship, just a magnified one (yes, yes... it's just a cartoon).

That being said, it will be interesting to learn why the the design is a throwback to a 100 year old ship, instead of the late 24th century look.

idk the windows are pretty small compared to the rest of the ship. If it was excelsior size, they would be tiny.
It isn't a direct upscale with new nacelles, they accounted for the size difference.

There are four ship classes I would want to be in command of:
1) Constitution-class (Discovery style version)
2) Excelsior-class (Either original or refit)
3) Sovereign-class
4) and the Obena (since it seems to be a similar class to the Excelsior)

The descriptive audio track for episode 10 also called it an excelsior class.

There really was some disconnect somewhere between the lower decks team and everyone else at CBS heh.

I mean, it doesn’t help that it looks like an excelsior

Something not clear in the preview, the saucer is oval shaped, not a circle.

The Cerritos also doesn’t have a bridge window it seems.

Edit:
Mark_Nguyen pointed out to me in the Tech subforum, that we did see a Cali Class last season with a view screen window, it even cracked in a scene.
Maybe it's only transparent when powered up or something?
Or it was replaced with the Cerritos Refit at the end of Season 1

Archimedes is like the baby of a Sovereign and Excelsior. It reminded me of a kitbashed ship. Maybe that was an intentional nod to kitbashed ships. It's not pretty.

Another new ship in one of the final scenes

Aside from it being the surname of the art director, Óbena is also one of the "hurricane children", mythological characters from the indigenous people of Costa Rica; along with his siblings Able, Dilé, and Sérike, their laughter is thunder and their playing games causes hurricanes.

According to Mike McMahan it's a new class of ship similar to but substantially larger than an Excelsior, rather than just an Excelsior refit. It has three rows of windows on its saucer rim whereas the Excelsior has two.

Using the overhead schematic view of it we see behind Captain Gomez on the bridge I scaled it against a Sovereign class, assuming their nacelles are about the same due to how similar in design they are. This gives ships of an overall similar length, though the Obena has a slightly smaller saucer and a much larger secondary hull, and most likely a larger overall internal volume. Presumably it's trading the Sovereign's speed (and firepower?) for carrying capacity and endurance; the workhorse to the Sovereign's thoroughbred.
