The Pierats have fired 3rd base coach Joey Cora. All the pieces are in place in Pittsburgh now.

 

It's a damned shame that Mr. Baseball isn't calling the Brewers vs. Braves game.

 

Yes, he is.

He doesn't do every inning, but he is there.

 

Radio or TV? I am only checking in(inngs) once in awhile on TV.

 

Radio.

(AFAIK, Uecker has only ever done Brewers radio, not TV.)

 

Chipper Jones is a little rusty with his pop-ups.

The NL East winner was supposed to be a patsy.

 

I'm loving how that series has become a pitcher's duel with not that many homers (despite Joc Pederson's historic two pitch-hit homers!). Hopefully the Braves can close it out with one more pitching gem.

 

As a Mets fan, I always wonder how Shea is doing.

 

And...down go the Rays.

 

And my dreams for a Durham Bulls World Series.

 

Red Sox to the ALCS! Certainly unexpected, hope they can keep it going. Sox have been rough this year, bouncing rapidly between unwatchable and unbeatable...

 

Astros join the A's and Braves as the only teams to make the LCS five straight seasons. The Braves did it eight straight seasons (with the 1994 strike in between).

 

Astros have to keep playing all these sox teams. At least we don't have laundry problems.

 

Well, look who just became a National League fan...

 

The Braves are NLCS bound!!!!

 

When does a little common sense seep into a baseball game? (I know. Commons sense in baseball?) The infamous "unreviewable" trapped popup in the Atlanta/Milwaukee game is a prime example of how fubar sports can be. Everyone in the stadium, including the six umpires, knew that that popup was not caught and yet the men in blue had to say, with straight faces, that the batter was out because the ump on the scene blew the call. Closeups of the umpires after the call showed really embarassed guys. Just because a call is deemed not subject to review doesn't mean the umps can't correct the bad call, does it? Bet they're really glad it didn't cost the Braves the game.
