I'm not a fan of Abramsverse designs in general but dang that Salcombe is one pretty ship ! I might have to change the way I've been thinking all these years ... ;-)
DOWNLOAD 3D MODEL - U.S.S. Salcombe (Kelvin Timeline) For materials to work properly, Diffuse maps should be read in as 2.2 gamma. All Roughness materials should be read in as 1.0 gamma. Incredible. It's much taller and stouter than I would have imagined! Those orthos really showcase how revealing/deceptive orthographic views can be! Love it!
That does beg the question, now, actually. What kind of vessel is this? An Escort like the Defiant? A Destroyer? It seems to have some heavy guns in the front.
What I understand is that in the original script for Beyond, Yorktown had a defense ship that was always stationed there. When Yorktown is attacked by the swarm, the Salcombe is deployed as a first response countermeasure. There was going to be a short scene of the Yorktown/Salcombe defending the station before the Franklin arrives, but that scene was cut. So, it's safe to surmise it's a battleship.
Is that ship 20 decks? More practically, Clip Studio Paint has a 3D-modelling tool set. So, according to this, it should be able to work with this!
