Mostly, I admit that it's because her death is so quick and the fact it describes the series as her, Riker, and Picard versus the threat. That may be to hide the truth of the story but I think she's likely to remain a POV.
Both Ezri Dax and Taurik are described as experiencing their apparent deaths in the same way, as not a single fatal shock but as a sort of separation. (I think.) Does that mean something happened to them apart from instant aging? I cannot say.
With regards to the fates of characters, I think that it may yet be too early to say. There might well be a timeline reset in the near future, for instance.
Taurik appeared in the TNG ep "Lower Decks". The actor played both Taurik and Vorik, which prompted TrekLit to postulate that they're brothers.I don’t think Taurik is a canon character. His twin brother in Voyager is, but not him.
Why would you want Raffi in this?I wonder if we might get cameos from the Litverse counterparts of New Trek characters, like the USS Cerritos crew, USS Protostar, or a young Raffi Musiker? As their fate here wouldn't have any bearing on their canon selves.

I was kinda hoping it would be the Gregari, who utterly wrecked the Alpha and Beta Quadrants in the Millennium trilogy. I always had a fondness for them.I'd like to say that I kind of have a regret that the Coda villains are a canon one rather than a Trekverse one. I think it would have been better to have them be the Shedai (some or one have survived!) or maybe some evil Caliar that are seeking to undo their reconcilliation with the Borg or other weirdness. Mostly because I kind of wish they had enough room to make this a Horus Heresy-esque celebration of the Litverse.

They creeped the hell out of me in the Fallen video game.I was kinda hoping it would be the Gregori, who utterly wrecked the Alpha and Beta Quadrants in the Millennium trilogy. I always had a fondness for them.
Regardless of what happens in the remaining two thirds of this, listening to the first third on audiobook has been one of the most boring experiences of my entire listening/reading lifetime. Petkoff is a great narrator, but literally not a single thing has happened yet that couldn't have happened offscreen for more impact.
I remember how much Destiny impressed the hell out of me by starting RIGHT in the middle of things, with Dax even already promoted to acting captain and four whole ships and crews established in the first four chapters. It felt epic right away.
This could not be more the opposite of that.
I ask you - what would be more interesting, the chapters focusing on Wesley and Ducane introducing our villains by having them slaughter people no one cares about, or Wesley, an ancient old man, dropping out of the clear blue sky with no warning? Imagine the shock of reading the beginning of this book and getting to the line "it was Wesley Crusher" if the first 13 entire chapters hadn't been there!
And as for all the Enterprise crew stuff, Jesus Christ, Dayton, I get it - everyone's happy. The neon sign blinking "DRAMATIC IRONY" was plenty bright enough after Chapter 2. It'd be ok if something happened now?
Ezri and Taurik experienced their apparent deaths in a different way from Konya, Balidemaj, Hegol etc. Ezri and Taurik are canon characters, the others who aged and disintegrated are litverse OCs. Any bets Ezri and Taurik were either abducted by the Devidians or saved by Q or the Prophets or someone instead of killed? This feels like a way to ensure canon characters who could still show up in Picard have apparent deaths that tug at our heartstrings, but are somehow still alive in whatever survives of this timeline to line up with the new on-screen continuity afterward.
Hello experts! I am trying to compile a list of those that "died". I say it that way because they could be used in other stories in the next 2 with time travel. Does anyone have a list?
Why couldn't the Dravidians be used by the Krenim?
Do we need terms like pre Coda Litverse vs Post Coda Litverse? Or maybe Prime Litverse after Coda is over, vs some parallel Litverse, which would be pre Coda?
Remember the moment in ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, when the loyal droid K2SO gets shot to pieces to buy the heroes a little more time? That sinking feeling of dread as one realizes, Shooting the droid in a Star Wars movie is like killing the loyal dog in a Western. Oh, @#$%. This is that kind of movie. … They're all gonna die, aren't they?
I'm just saying, get used to that feeling.
Ranjea being alive: goof or clue?Any questions you'd like me to ask Dayton tomorrow for our Literary Treks interview?
