I think the "Klingons stole warp from humans" bit came from one of the RPGs - I think it was in the Last Unicorn TOS book or some of the side material, but that borrowed a lot from old FASA Trek.
This confirms my feeling that the California class is one of the better looking TNG era ships.New Cerritos MSD from today's episode (Made by Mike Okuda I believe), only good shots of it, hopefully more in a later episode.

It does look as if the MSD comes with fully legible text (for those able to focus on something else besides the obvious), while all the previous ones in LDS have clearly had just a string of dots and racetrack shapes imitating words.
The engineering pod shuttlebay at least is very clearly there. No dragons of note, alas.

I find it odd they debut the new MSD in the same episode the old, inaccurate MSD appears prominently in engineering.
And the Monaveen being disabled was apparently leaving Hysperia defenseless?
Closer to the shape of a old school Apple Macintosh.it's even MORE strange how they're all about the same size and shape as most 21st century desktop gaming rigs.
Hmmm....As concerning as it is that there are dozens of evil computers that Starfleet ALONE has managed to defeat / capture / retrieve for study in Okinawa, it's even MORE strange how they're all about the same size and shape as most 21st century desktop gaming rigs.
so this could be some straightforward technology transfer.
Yeah, Brad Winters has said on twitter to basically ignore the Cerritos MSD's that aren't the one Billups's quarters this episode. They're inaccurate.- In the larger "MAP" MSD in Engineering, the map mistakenly labels the big dorsal saucer cutout as the "captain's ready room", and the area aft of it is the landing bay. Apparently elsewhere it's been noted by the art guys that this wasn't intentional but was not well researched.
- And the Monaveen being disabled was apparently leaving Hysperia defenseless? I guess they couldn't afford more than one dragon ship, so they put all their eggs in one giant dragon basket...
