Honestly, Season 1 should have been the backstory

He would've been another Kirk (retired Admiral wants to go out into space ... AGAIN).
I see you have 2 likes, but what was written from All Good Things... would give you that idea??? Is there a problem in this forum where people can't open their imaginations a little??? Everything has to be based on what was done before? Open your minds on these topics.

Picard in an android body sounds like charting unknowns to me. The season may not have been perfect but the ending was quintessentially Trek.
Should've been done in episode 1 along with the backstory and you have something.

Its a waste, its not necessary to drag that story along for 10 chapters. This idea of giving Picard an android body could've been established in a scene inside an infirmary as the backstory unfolds, what THIS THREAD is discussing, or the start of the PICARD series. Q, I felt, should've been there from the start and it didn't mean Picard's story had to ape off of Kirk. Not at all, there are many ways and angles to tell Picard's story and those lines in All Good Things... was something to go by.

No Q!

Honesetly, I don't think it needed 10 episodes, but certainly not a hand wavy style of one episode, already joining the story in progress. That's an interesting story that would be fun to unpack, especially from a character point of view. That's why Q's inclusion in S2 makes me hesistant.

I think the lines All Good Things work well for S1 and potentially S2 if they can actually handle it...doubtful.

I'm not a fan of any of these CBSALLPARAMOUNT streaming Treks, it is what it is and I am not holding my breath for any sort of handling these TNG characters faithfully. The Q who returns will not be the Q from TNG, and I am fine with that.

Then clearly you do not appreciate Lower Decks, which is the TRUE TNG sequel. :)

Nothing from these NuTrek series are a TRUE anything TNG for me. I am glad to know TNG had ended in a grand note and whatever is done moving forward doesn't have much relevance for me. These things will come and Thank God it will go... some day.
