Sorry about that. Sometimes I have a few pages worth to read through and I reply to stuff as I see it not realizing there are still more pages

The deceased collector was a Zibalian.
Was he meant to be the same old Kivas Fajo?

Funnily enough, Zibal and the collectors guild appear in the newly released PIC novel “Rogue Elements”.

His name was Kerner Hauze, and I think Fajo is probably still in prison (or not. Who knows?).

I'll admit it, I lol'd at the saw gag. The Pakleds are really the perfect antagonists for a show like Lower Decks.

That’s funny. I remember reading that Sirtis tried to get a part on ENT during its run and the producers said no for exactly the same reason (until TATV, of course.)

I think I’m going to try to binge watch season 1 so I can start S2. I just hope it gets better than the first episode, because I didn’t find the humor funny at all and I thought the frenetic pacing was meant for people with extremely short attention spans or people who are extremely hyperactive.

I really enjoyed that. Glad Boimler is back on Cerritos but also glad they didn't have him screw up and get busted back to Ensign for that. Doubt we've seen the end of William Boimler (want to bet he has a beard next time we see him?)

I liked this one better than last week...got some genuine laughs out of things like Riker propping his leg on his chair; and a kick out of seeing giant clone Spock's skeleton.

Communal nudity is totally Gene's Vision.

Using transporters to create duplicates came from Tom Riker. Cloning a character so they can both stay home and go out and have crazy adventures? That came from Rick and Morty.

Another good episode, so another 8 from me. :techman:

The Tamarian was a hoot, as was Boimler being cloned. The twin seemed a lot more assertive, so that's a really interesting idea that can be revisited.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with communal nudity. :)

In-story, the method used in this case came from Tom Riker. The concept goes back a bit further...

I’m not talking about the concept of having clones. I’m talking about this specific narrative application of them.

Using a clone to allow a main character to explore two life paths at once.

I reckon Commander Troi being off screen jives with her being pregnant in that year.

We don't know if we will see Will Boimler again or if he will be a protagonist. The same as with Tom Riker so it's a real stretch to see this was pulled from R&M when Trek has more than enough inspiration for this type of character

Oh that could also be taken as a dig at the final two seasons of DS9, and seasons 3 and 4 of ENT. Alex Kurtzman was hardly the first Star Trek producer of serialized Star Trek.

To be fair, in that episode (TOS S1,"The Enemy Within"), the transporter didn't create a complete duplicate of Captain Kirk, It somehow separated the emotional side from the intellectual side and coalesced each into its own entity. Basically it made Kirk two halves of a whole. Also if they didn't put Kirk back together he would have died.

I love a good fan-servicing as much as the next person, but…dayum!

I hope the writer of Darmok got a taste of the action.

The Boimler clone thing was decent.
