Michael B. Jordan as the Man Of Steel?

I found this part of the article interesting...

As previously reported, J.J. Abrams and his company Bad Robot are set to produce a Black Superman movie for Warner Bros. that is expected to follow the Kal-El/Clark Kent version of the character. Though Clark Kent is traditionally depicted as white in the DC comics, the character will be played by a Black actor in the Bad Robot movie, which will likely be directed by a Black filmmaker, as Abrams is simply expected to produce. Author and cultural critic Ta-Nehisi Coates is already hard at work on the script for that project.

I have no issue with a black writer, though I would like to see someone with more of a background writing in TV and film. The only credit Coates has that has been produced is for a documentary.

Coates did have a very celebrated run writing Black Panther, though obviously writing for comics and writing for film are two completely different animals.

Ah, I did not know that. Thanks for the information! :techman:

They couldn’t get Michael A. Jordan?
What about Routh? They could do something with him. They set that up pretty well.

I mean as Superman for a short miniseries. That could be fun. We’ve never seen a post Lois Lane Superman in live action before.

Don't think Routh's Superman is post-Lois post-Crisis. The black emblem on his chest changed to the traditional yellow, implying the Planet tragedy had been erased.

Maybe but they could set it years later where Lois has died of old age.
Uh ... huh. :wtf:

A Superman story without Lois Lane is hobbled badly and needlessly in my estimation. As commentator Lauren Winn once observed, "Superman is inherently a love story. If it's not a love story, then revisit what you've written."

If there's no Lois, then there has to be some other lady - Lana Lang, Wonder Woman, even that mermaid Lori Lemaris - to ground him. Lois Lane is what makes Superman human, what keeps him tied to Earth once both his foster parents are gone. Take that away, you're on the road to Dr. Manhattan. Or the Knightmare figure we saw in Snyder's movies.

Maybe he stays grounded by his kids and his kids kids. We could see what a grandpa Supes is like.

I always liked the idea that he takes a sabbatical from Earth and explores the universe. Leaving his descendants to protect it.
You don’t need to shoehorn another love intert right away. There is always Diana which he has a romance with in the comics and had a kid.
