Spoilers NO SPOILERS FOR CODA - A Lit-verse Grand Finale...What We Know (Spoilers for Entire Lit-verse)

Well, TrekCentral found the back cover blurb for Moments Asunder:

Starfleet's finest faces a challenge unlike any other

Tomorrow is doomed
Time is coming apart. Countless alternate and parallel realities are under attack, weakening and collapsing from relentless onslaught. If left unchecked, the universe faces an unstoppable descent toward entropy.

Wanderer, oracle, ally
Scarred and broken after decades spent tracking this escalating temporal disaster, while battling the nameless entity responsible for it, an old friend seeks assistance from Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Starship Enterprise. The apocalypse may originate from their future, but might the cause lie in their past?

Everything that will be
Identifying their adversary is but one step toward defeating them, but early triumphs come with dreadful costs. What will the price be to achieve final victory, and how will that success be measured in futures as yet undefined?
Fascinating.

I was thinking more of Loki myself. :)

Sounds good to me.

I assumed the "old friend" to be Wesley doing his traveller schtick, but something else just occurred to me. What if it's Spock? If there's no supernova in this timeline (at least not one as described in Last Best Hope), he was last seen leaving Romulus for the Federation in one of the Typhon Pact novels...

I hope everyone will read my heartfelt reflection on what the Coda trilogy means to me as I looked back on my entire Trek fandom. A bit lengthy for just a TrekBBS post, but I hope worth a few minutes of your time.

I can understand your thoughts on newer Trek (especially Picard, started so strong but stumbled so hard) but Lower Decks is EASILY the best of all the new Trek stuff. I'd recommend you give it a watch.

Yeah -- Lower Decks does rely too much on fannish Trek-continuity gags, but in many ways it captures the optimism of Trek and the feel of the TNG era surprisingly well. And the season finale has some strikingly effective action and drama.

You've expressed yourself beautifully! I've been wanting to write a version of that myself - differing in details, but practically the same in the sentiment towards the TrekLit continuity of the 2000's-2010's..
(I have an Israeli TrekLit blog - written in Hebrew..)

Thanks for the feedback!

The blurb mentions that the "wanderer, oracle, ally" has been working for decades, so likely not Wesley.
