yeh shades of Smallville where they always put the suit hating Tom Welling in superman coloured causal wear.. or maybe more apt Kirks casual wear in Trek III/IV being similar to the movie uniformLaris and Zhaban seemed to be pretty popular as a double-act; it would be good to see more of them this season!
Looking at those pics of Stewart and Brady in LA...
I suspect that the maroon half-zip top is a costume designer's nod to Picard's previous uniforms without actually putting him in a uniform. Even the combination of black trousers and a bluish-grey jacket is still within the overall colour-scheme of the First Contact uniforms.
It seems a bit heavy-handed as a reference but I can't believe that they didn't know this when they gave him those clothes...!!

Ha! Yes, that was the first thing that occurred to me too! In fact, I almost mentioned that exact same thing in my previous post!
Picard spent season one in the most uniformish casual clothes imaginable. It kinda reminded me of the sweater the kid in "Hero Worship" wore

Yes, though there's an "Additional dialogue by Michael Jan Friedman" credit, which makes me wonder if it was more of a collaboration than the credits indicate.
Y'know, I've never thought to ask Mike over the years what his contribution to "The Gift" was. Maybe when I see him next.

More interestingly, look at this other pic:
The guy holding the sunshade / umbrella may be wearing a baseball cap and a facemask but he also seems to be wearing the *exact* same black cargo pants and maroon top as Stewart. Stunt double perhaps...?

I suspect the answer is it's close-but-not-quite. The black combat/cargo trousers with the side pockets and the black walking boots are decidedly non-FC. The overall vibe is there though, including the shade of grey they chose for his jacket!
The showrunner tweeted a short clip of an LCARS Red Alert Graphic, which I assume is on set.

The LCARS around it appear to be the ones from Season 1 based on the colour scheme. So I don't think so.
It is also animated differently from how it appeared in the TOS movies and Discovery.
