Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

I forgot to mention one other small bit I liked. It's when Bruce is pondering the message from future Barry, "Lois Lane is the key," and Diana responds, "She is for Superman. Every heart has one." Such a lovely line.
Where did you find a physical copy (given your staunch reluctance to stream or purchase a digital download)?

There are physical releases in the UK, Germany, France and Australia. Two more countries are getting it this week.

I’ve looked into those but the shipping charges are almost as much, if not more, than the film itself (wasn’t that way pre-COVID but there it is). I can wait a while longer.

I got the steelbook version myself. I’m sure America will get it soon. Probably want to keep it on HBO Max for a year or so

Ordered it from Amazon UK. Re: your subsequent comment, I didn’t find the postage prohibitive. Think I paid like 34 bucks total (movie + shipping).

Yeah, the Alan Grant novelization made it clear how different the final cut was from what was intended. Thomas Wayne's diary had a much bigger part in Bruce's trauma, the order of events is different, there's even an extra scene at the beginning with Rene Auberjonois' Dr. Burton.

The postage to Canada, at the moment, is very high (pre-pandemic, I ordered many films from UK and average postage was 2-3£ but now it’s 19£). I’ll wait a bit to see if postage costs come down. Similarly expensive postage from France (was also inexpensive pre-pandemic).

That is an absolutely insane price for a movie...
Heh. I remember when 40$ (About 65$ today) for a pan and scan :barf: VHS movie was a bargain.

But the whole point of Snyder’s take was that he would eventually get there. He was doing the long story with Superman.

Snyder had Superman carefully moving from novice not knowing his place in a world of humans, to gaining confidence (and dealing with hubris) to maturing across three films.

So, Smallville. You two are saying Snyder was going to spend the better part of a decade and approximately $928 million (the combined budgets of Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Justice League, and the Snyder cut) to make Smallville.

Well he was already Superman. I just mean he becomes more comfortable as the hero in the future sequels. Similar to what we get now in Superman and Lois

In the extras for MOS, Snyder says that at the end of the movie Clark is now the Clark we know. He went in a different direction with BVS though.

I dunno. Seems to me that if his arc is learning how to mature into the Superman we know and love from previous versions, then whether or not he's wearing the suit yet, you're just doing another version of Smallville or Superboy.
