Here in Glasgow they have started a local walk-in around the area for people still waiting for their first dose, so hopefully on Friday morning i can walk in and get my first dose as i have been missed for the over 50s group by two months now at this point.

Received my first dose of the Moderna last Friday so I could have the three day weekend to recover in case anything went wrong.

Six of my fellow employees received their first or second shot of the Moderna and four of them ended up missing a day or two of work because of the side effects; so I was a little trepidatious.

However, I felt completely fine. In fact, I spent the whole weekend waiting for something to happen and it never did.

I actually feel better now than I have in a long time; maybe it's the relief that there's a light at the end of the tunnel and in a couple of weeks I can stop wearing this mask. (I'm still going to wear it when I go shopping.)

Everyone is different, but be prepared that the second shot might put you in bed for 1 day. That was my experience. The first Moderna shot had no side effects on me, but the second one made may arm hurt considerably and gave me fever and chills. I know several people that had the same result with Moderna. Not a big deal in the long run though. I also know a few people that had no side effects with both shots, and one friend had side effects after the first but not the second. So you just never know. You were smart to prepare for the first one, so stay smart and allow at least 1 recovery day for the second one. I was surprised at just how significant the side effects were. I thought people were exaggerating about muscle aches and such, but it was no joke and there was no way I could work the day after the second shot. The day after that, I was perfectly normal.

My next shot is scheduled for Friday June 18th, so I'm taking that day off, then I have the weekend as well.

I don't know about those of you who have received the Moderna shot, but based on what happened with my coworkers - the four that had the worst reactions were in their 20-30s, and the two that didn't have any adverse side effects were in their 50-60s. I'm 50 going on 51. Maybe it's an age thing.

Same here. I think more research needs to be done given the speed at which this was produced. I've also been exposed four times to this virus and have not contracted it. I think prudence is appropriate.

It could be true. My Mom at 82 had no reaction to either dose of Moderna. However, I'm 56 and was knocked out by the second dose. But maybe that means I'm young at heart.

I had the Moderna and my arm was a little sore for the first shot. The second shot, I felt like someone beat the shit out of me for a day, but I was fine the next. I did have one other side effect, though. For three days, I could NOT get enough to eat. Like, I went out, got a 16 oz. Ribeye, ate it, rice, two sweet potatoes, went home and ate grilled chicken, broccoli and more rice. I literally ate NON STOP for three days.

One thing to consider about Covid 19 is that it is a member of the coronavirus family of which we have had a few outbreaks of over the last couple of decades or so i.e. SARS which would have been studied so perhaps some of that knowledge could have been transferred over to help develop a vaccine and nothing speeds up development of anything than an immediate need where money becomes less of a consideration.

My husband and I are getting our 2nd Covid shot tomorrow. I am super nervous about it. We have had friends who couldn't get the 2nd one because of reactions to the first one. And also who have had gotten sick for 2 or 3 days. So we are trying to be prepared and getting "sick food" like chicken soup. A friend who just got his 2nd one though, said that he heard that taking Gator-Ade. before and after the shot helps. And they did that and so far they have had no problems. I didn't know about it for the first one. I was mostly okay I had a warm and numb arm and then next day was worn out. So here is hoping the Gator-Ade works. Anyone else try this? Did it work? Heck I will try anything at this point. Just want to get thru smoothly...

I didn't try Gatorade but I really didn't have any reaction to the first or second Moderna shot. Only had a sore spot at the injection site for a day.

The first murder hornet of 2021 was found dead in Marysville, WA. This specimen was different in coloration and its DNA did not match those found in Washington and Canada last year. It was also very dried out which suggests it was from last year.

They probably died off due to not having anybody to bite due to everybody staying indoors.

    Late in posting this.

Received my second Modera shot at 3pm Friday. Woke up Saturday morning feeling fine. Went to the library, did some grocery shopping, had lunch, then settled down on the couch thinking, 'Well that wasn't so bad. I don't know what everyone was complaining about'. Then right about three o'clock 'WHAM!' Headache, dizziness, fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, my left arm near the injection site goes numb. I basically spent the next twelve-fourteen hours on the bathroom floor. I finally crawled to bed about 5am Sunday morning. I woke up around nine and, aside from being hungry and fatigued, felt completely fine. It felt like a bad case the flu.
