Sisko's intervention with giving them advanced Starfleet technology (in the form of a mirror Defiant) might have helped shift the balance of power back toward the Terrans and the rebuilding of the Terran Empire, along with having captured the cloaking device that was also brought over from the Prime Universe. Things were not looking good for Regent Worf when last seen.

I'm sure if there's a story reason to bring them back they will. But really, considering neither girl has any real connection to anyone from the cast, it's going to be stretching things to find a story reason for bringing them back. The whole point of Children of Mars was to show the Synth attack from the perspective of ordinary people with a personal stake in the events.
