Oh, yeah, that would make more sense.Or he's a Excalibian.
I'm mildly disappointed that Janeway is a hologram rather than really Janeway, but it's not a big deal. I'm more excited about the Delta Quadrant 2383 setting. That leaves open the possibility of seeing DQ species from Voyager and maybe some ramifications of Voyager's trip. Of course, I don't expect it to be heavy on continuity, given that its primary demographic wasn't born when Voyager was on the air.
You know, I hate all that time difference. I remember when, in the late 1990s, it was the 24th century. All shows and movies took place in the same time, at the same pace, even 70,000 lightyears apart. Much of the merchandise also kept up, allowing you to aquire the 'latest' map of the galaxy.
This ended with Enterprise, though some hoped that would be an anomaly. Today, however, it's all over the place. Even worse, we know how it will all end, in The Burn.
It's not that. The Burn didn't really affect my feelings on preexisting shows (though there have been incidents like Fury and the Icheb gouging which dented my feelings on preexisting stories and characters).
No, this is closer to creating a whole new show around a character after establishing that he comes to a terrible end. Only it's worse, because it is now established that all the progress since the 23rd century has basically come to nothing, and only Michael Burnham Allmighty can get them back on track.
Why do we have teaser trailers for stuff that hasn't aired yet?
Or maybe it's the rock-looking big guy. Didn't Shatner want to use rock aliens in TFF? Isn't there a deleted scene with Rock Man or something like that?
I could see them doing a story where the teens encounter a planet that's been thrown into chaos due to Voyager's influence where Janeway is hated, and it calls everything they've learned about the Federation and Janeway into question.I'm mildly disappointed that Janeway is a hologram rather than really Janeway, but it's not a big deal. Let's see what them Kazons have been up to!That leaves open the possibility of seeing DQ species from Voyager and maybe some ramifications of Voyager's trip.

Very well.I really wish people would actually read the posts I respond to before taking my responses to those posts out of context.
The answer is we don't know. And possibly won't know until the show airs because I imagine that is part of the story is either figuring out why the ship is there or were it came from, from the point of view of the main cast, aside from Janeway hologram. So the show takes place in the Delta Quadrant? That would explain why none of the characters look like typical Alpha Quadrant species. But why would there be an abandoned Starfleet vessel in the Delta Quadrant in 2383, much less one with Janeway as a hologram aboard?
Let's see what them Kazons have been up to!
*room empties*
I would only care if the entire Kazon whatevertheycallthemselves got completely 100% assimilated by the Borg.
Don't you remember? Seven said the Borg rejected them as unworthy of assimilation.
The fact that this new one seems to be drawing heavily from Voyager mythos is a big strike against it in my book, but I do nonetheless plan on viewing it with an open mind, hopefully not to my detriment.
Yes, perhaps "heavily" is too strong a word. But they're definitely going back to that well to a degree, which gives me pause.
I'm optimistically hoping for a more evolved take on the subject (albeit for a kids' show).
