Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

The best thing about Whedon's Justice League is this trailer, which was amazing.

And that was the marketing department (and a scene that only appeared in the Snyder cut) and not him.

Interesting. The trailer implies that the Superman scene from the Snyder Cut at the beginning was a dream.

Perfectly fine? Zack Snyder's Superman is a whiny, emo, self-appointed martyr! Nothing about his personality says "hero."

As for ZSJL, I have the exact same problem with it that I had with BvS in Extended edition: You added a bunch of stuff and made it make more sense. What you didn't make it was better.

In fact, I never thought I'd see a movie that would make me like the theatrical release better, yet here comes the Snyder Cut. Now I understand that for all its faults, the Whedon cut at least has humor, which is a damn sight better than watching Zack Snyders Manic Depression (with SFX) for four hours.

I've gone over most of this thread so far but you really seem to hate/dislike Snyder for whatever reason. What are you talking about Superman is whiny? EMO??? Self appointed and nothing screams hero? Did you actually watch MOS? He is saving people even when hes working at a bar, or near oil rigs that are burning down and other people have written them off as dead... etc the list goes on, he even saved a child in school who is drowning (as well as the whole bus) and could have been seen by everyone, whilst his dad was saying its best to hide his powers from the world. Which bit of that doesnt scream hero ?

The Joss Whedon film was awful, an absolute contrived mess, so bad and now seems even worse when you view the Snyder cut.

I was really impressed with it overall, yes it has a couple of faults but in a lock-down world with hardly anything new having been out this last year this was a breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed it and so did my son and girlfriend. My GF actually doesnt like most of the DC stuff except wonder woman but she said she thought it was great. Even though it was long, we managed it in one go - I would love another like this and to continue the snyderverse. This is more how DC should be done.

And I was right about it being on 2 discs. I assume the first 3 parts on one and the rest on the other.

Perhaps not the AntiChrist, but a man with a long history of being a colossal, self-aggrandizing piece of crap, and an overrated one at that, hence his being brought in to (ultimately) destroy the theatrical version of JL

It doesn't scream hero to those who are trapped in the false notion that a couple of long-outdated, watered-down "Daddy" / camp counselor versions of the character (both taking next to nothing from the creation and early published years of the character), which no one wanted to see, as evidenced by the rejection of the Donner-wanna-be "sequel" Superman Returns.

True.

Agreed.

A rare instance of calling a version of Superman that wasn't directed by Snyder "camp counselor". It must be a day ending in "y".

Curious, do you feel Tyler Hoechlin's Superman is a daddy/camp counselor as well since his interpretation feels closer to the comics than Synder's? The animated Superman from TAS or JL? Smallville? The current version seen in the comics? The version from a decade ago? Jeph Loeb's? Grant Morrison's? Is there no spectrum in your world? Is it binary with only two extremes existing as per your very narrow views? Is someone not allowed to enjoy a version that's not either Snyder's version OR this bizarre fantasy version you hate so much? Is there any colour that exists between black and white when you look outside your window?

It took me three days to finish. I really liked it especially the Wonder Woman and Aquaman stuff. I even went backwards and watched Batman vs Superman (Zack Snyder cut) though I didn’t like it as much but watched because it was Wonder Woman’s first appearance.

Speaking of BvS has anyone managed to get a copy of the remastered edition? It’s supposed to be out in America today but it seems to be sold out everywhere.

Here's an idea. How about we stop with the personal attacks and insults because it does nothing for meaningful conversation. People like different interpretations of Superman, Batman, and other comic book characters. No harm, no foul.

I know it's a Star Trek thing but can we try a little IDIC? Just asking for a friend.

Believe it or don't, I'm actually making an effort to do just that. I voluntarily retired the term
"Snyderman"
a few weeks ago when some posters I like and respect in TNZ called out the serial negativity in "Superman" discussions. I also recently offered the following olive branch in another thread:
So, I think many would agree that among the defining qualities of Superman as a character is that he is inspirational, aspirational, hopeful, affirming.

Of all the versions of Superman out there, there is one in particular that I personally don't care for. Anybody who has read and retained more than a dozen of my posts in recent years probably knows which one it is. And a big part of my dislike for that version is that he seems to me to lack -- even actively reject -- the character's fundamental positivity and optimism.

But then I read this article:

https://medium.com/@AmandaKP/how-zack-snyder-henry-cavill-and-hans-zimmer-saved-my-life-45ecfe806373

I find it really interesting and instructive that a Superman who doesn't speak to me at all, speaks to someone else in such a life-changing -- even life-saving -- way. Maybe it's an essential power of the character, more even than flight or super-strength, that he can find some way to speak to everyone.

Commentator David Mann has suggested that the DCEU Superman is passionately loved by viewers for whom he represents "an honest depiction of many peoples’ experience in a cruel world, and the first superhero to popularly stand for them in the context of that world." Maybe to embrace a "traditional" Superman requires a baseline hopefulness and optimism that not everyone can muster, and which some reflexively reject, but they find their own kind of truth and inspiration in the DCEU's take? If so, maybe he has his place and purpose after all, even if he's not the Superman for me -- as long as he's the Superman for someone.
I'll grant that my applauding M'rk son of Mogh's post was not helpful, but I am trying to do better. I invite TREK_GOD_1 to do the same. No more
"Snyderman"
from me, no more "daddy/uncle/camp counselor" from him. Seems fair enough, and you're right, it will make for a more pleasant and productive environment for everyone.

I'm seeing sold out everywhere -- Target, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. Sorry.

What's the name of this version? Is it just BvS 4k?

Same name. Just different cover. Supposed to come with director's audio commentary though.

On another board, people are saying that no one's gotten their order from these big name stores. So maybe there was an issue.

Yeah. Just BvS Ultimate Remastered Edition.
WB released a clip today showing the expanded picture.
