Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

That's WB's loss, since there was an incredible groundswell of fans that made the Snyder Cut possible. I doubt any non-Snyder DC film going forward will ever have that kind of support for director's editions.
I don't know why you are riding on this Snyder fanboyism so hard. His movies were poorly received, and made less money than the studio expected. They should have stuck with him for the trilogy, and maybe even one more sequel, but now that he is gone they are in a far better place financially and creatively.

WB made 2 huge mistakes
Biggest mistake: Hiring Snyder. Second biggest: firing Snyder at the point they did.

"Hey David? This is Ann. How's your cut coming along? Good. I just gave an interview saying some shit how it's never gonna happen, so the internet is gonna get riled up good and 'forces' us to with their hashtags. Yeah, I said something about future Snyder movies, too. I tell you, nothing gets people to demand something like telling them they can't have it."

WB just seem to be throwing ideas at a wall and seeing what sticks. It feels like everyday im hearing news that they are developing another movie about a c-list superhero. Zatanna is the latest.

I know but it just feels random. With Marvel there was some logic to their choices. There’s still no news on Green Lantern. Last I heard they were developing a HBO Max show but that was over a year ago

John Diggle from Green Arrow found a Green Lantern ring last year.

LoL! That scene was so random. Rings don’t fall to Earth in cases like that.
I’d rather the show was based in the DCEU

Snyder created a structure for the DCEU that worked, and WB--in one recent moment of sense / clarity--made the right decision to greenlight the Snyder cut. Why? The fans demanded it, so if it was so unpopular, no studio would invest a cent into such a project. Major investments in something allegedly unpopular is not how that business works.

Thankfully, WB never listened to anyone like a couple of obsessive people in this thread who live to attack Snyder, his films and fans.

It's popular enough to sell some HBO Max subscriptions. Not popular enough to drive franchises expected to make over a billion per movie.

They were going to play bigger roles in movies down the line. Any Man in Civil War and Strange playing the Pivotal role in Infinity War
But why those two characters? Do they fit the story or does the story fit them? Strange and Ant-Man seem plugged in because they have elements that fit the story. Marvel's telling a big story that's their thing. All the characters are in each other's back pocket. That works for them. Not every movie "universe" has to tell a big story. DC doesn't seem to be about that. And that's fine.
