If so it failed with me.The Burton Batman were for kids, too. Darker, and also for adults, but also for kids.
I've watched a lot of kids shows as an adult, and I enjoy them just as much the adult shows I watch.Mostly, folks like that have something to prove to themselves, about how they're all growed up and have left "childish" pleasures behind.
Unfortunately, the Snyder aesthetic seems far more "what a teenager thinks being adult is" than actually adult.
Don't know. Don't care. If I don't agree with their approach the best way to say so is to not buy it. Snyder has his way of doing things and we pretty much know what that style is. He isn't as clever as he things but I think that applies to many Hollywood directors. They are creative types who have a particular view of the world and spent years learning to hone that skill while distinguishing themselves among their peers. Terms like "pertentious" and "elitist" would be common terms as well. Why do so many often assume "family-friendly" and "all ages" must mean "dumbed down kiddie"?

People who write off all kids' shows as automatically shallow and dumb need to get the stick out of their ass, because they're missing some great stuff.
OK, I have to admit, this trailer was actually pretty cool. This one didn't seem to be trying anywhere near as hard to be big and dramatic, it just was.Excellent.

Family friendly is just that-stuff I have fun with my family. But, I don't treat comic book films automatically as for my family.
I struggle to this day to understand the desire to compartmentalize comics in to one preferred format, rather than recognizing that comics have been a variety storytelling platform, and not just one niche population. But you see that never happens; some are so triggered by that which does not fit their isolated view of DC movies/characters, that they waste their time and money (get ready for the especially rattled types who paid for HBOMax only to bitch about JL), and pollute social media with whining.
the relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane (Amy Adams) ... delves more deeply into grief than any DCEU film, strikes idealistic romantic notes reminiscent of the Christopher Reeve era, and even gets into the "Monkey's Paw" aspect of bringing a dead superhero back to life.
It's a corporate product that feels as if it sprung from a fever dream, like "Superman Returns"
