Paramount/JJ trying another Trek movie (that will probably never get made).

    Does that make a difference?

Regardless, the answer is still "No, I'm not ready for anything different." I like Abrams. Kurtzman is fine enough. So, I wait in anticipation.

When they're are pictures from the set of the movie being filmed I'll believe it.

Reading between the lines, this one will be a fresh take, a new, original movie. I doubt it will involve any cast from the previous three movies.

You know what's crazy? I remember in 2006 or 2007 hearing that a new Star Trek movie was in development and it seemed like it had been forever since Nemesis. Now it's been the same amount of time since Beyond and there's still no definitive sign that a movie is being made.

Well, one of her parents must be. Maybe she hates it!

The one obvious Trek movie that has never been made yet is bringing the Terran Empire to the big screen and have a USS Enterprise face off against the cool evil ISS Enterprise.

Yes. So far they have ignored that spectacularly dumb idea.

Well, this is good news. Most of STD has been dreadfully poorly written, but I don't know what specifically Vasquez has done for the show and she has interesting credits otherwise. Best of luck to her and Bad Robot, and I hope they get something together. :techman:

    That should be avoided.

Probably not, if she's writing it.

She wrote part 2 of Terra Firma, which I thought was okay, and the Short Trek Ask Not, which I thought was the least interesting of the shorts. But then I thought Calypso was the best and I've thus far been unimpressed with Chabon's writing on Picard.

    No

I'm still not sure it will ever be a TV show.

I’m not overly optimistic either. I’d love Tarantino Trek. The Kill Bill Klingon proverb was awesome.

It didn't look like the Hawley version would be a continuation. If they only rejected his film because of the premise and it had nothing to do with going with a different cast, then I can see them continuing with the idea of a different cast but having a story that goes in a different direction.

It wouldn't surprise me if this is a SNW lead-in movie. It would get a lot of attention to Paramount+ and all the trek content there. They could to a theater + streaming service simultaneous release

Anson Mount could definitely carry a film.

I'd love for naysayers to just try to tell me to my face that he can't.

I doubt it. She has a picture of TOS episode with her namesake character as her Twitter profile picture:

Terra firma was among the worse episodes in season 3 in my opinion, with a VERY thin plot and a lot of mindless gore and backstabbing (the guardian,’s CGI was also incredibly bad, but that’s not in the writer of course), so I’m not overjoyed by the news.

As far as I remember it her short trek was unremarkable but ok.

It wasn't a serious suggestion, guys. I was just teasingly pointing out that what someone's parent named them doesn't indicate what they like.
