The Inevitable TOS Reboot

I'd be more interested in seeing the Zabel/Strazcynski TOS reboot made. Individual stories with a constant storyline running through the five years, investigating the Preservers.
I don't know I don't feel like I would enjoy an anime style treatment of Star Trek. I mean JMS' "Crusade" was effectively a remake of "Space Battleship Yamato", so who knows what space-based anime he'd draw from to redo TOS? ;)

I haven't clicked on that yet, but some ongoing TOS storylines would be pretty fun IMO; I'd love to see a narrative running through, say, Little Girls, I Mudd and Return to Tomorrow concerning androids, or that City created the Mirror Universe.... so a Preservers storyline to explain (Miri, Omega Glory, Bread and Circuses, Paradise Syndrome, etc) would be a fun arc to explore.

I like the Preservers idea. Was that term used in TOS? I recall an episode of TNG that covered it. Even a show based on a science ship researching the Preservers or the planets they visited would be cool.

The term was used to TOS, but not TNG.

William Shatner's novels covered them in detail. It explained the duplicate Earths and alternate universes of Trek, all of which were Preserver experiements. And of course the Mirror Universe was the control universe, and ours the one heavily tampered with.

I love the idea of a control universe, but the mirror universe being the result of humanity left to its own devices is a pretty depressing idea.

Tonight, we are a giant step closer to a TOS series reboot:
