Justice League official "Zack Snyder" cut on HBO Max

While it was already looking likely, I think this will probably end up being the final nail in his career's coffin.

Yeah, I'm going to withdraw my defense of the man now that the dominoes are starting to fall. Damn it, Joss! Why did you have to come out to be an asshole? Every time you put a person on a pedestal they always let you down. Well, we'll always have the Avengers...

You can forget any new Firefly though... or even a return to writing X-Men comics.

Charisma Carpenter has now come forward with stories about how miserable working with Joss Whedon was for her.
Yikes, turns out he is even worse than I thought. And she even admits that she pretended there was no problem, and would say she would work with him again when asked. Which makes me wonder how many of the people who seem to like him are doing the same.
She also mentioned him playing favorites, which could explain why so many people seemed to like him.

And the main female Buffy leads have all supported Carpenter's comments. This goes a long way to explaining Geller's bristling attitude and vague comments whenever she was interviewed in later years. I remember one interview when she kept talking about how it wasn't fun to have been bruised so much during the making of the program--I wonder if she meant more than just physically now.

I am glad that this has all come to light and it must be a relief to Fisher that he finally has some support. Maybe his acting career isn't over after all. WB is going to have something to answer for if they are responsible for gagging the other actors and preventing them from speaking out.

I am also curious about the opinion of the male cast members.
I can't remember their real names, but who played Angel, Wesley, Spike and Giles. And the cast from Firefly

David Boreanaz, Alexis Denisof, James Marsters and Anthony Stewart Head. Denisof kept working with Whedon even up to the Avengers (he played the alien dude that spoke for Thanos at the end), so he presumably wasn't so exposed to whatever Joss was doing. He also started dating Alyson Hannigan way back when and the two are still married today, so I guess he probably didn't go after Hannigan much, either for some reason. At least, I couldn't keep working for someone who treated my wife like shit. No idea where the others stand.

As for the Firefly cast, Alan Tudyk already weighed in back at the start of the whole Ray Fisher saga and he was pretty unmovably in Joss's corner.

I had been thinking that for a while and it seems confirmed now. I get the sense that she's pretty private with her life so even her brief statement may have been hard. I'm glad she came forward.

It also goes a long way into explaining why neither Sarah Michelle Gellar nor Michelle Trachtenberg were willing to return for Angel's 100th episode.

I wonder if Boom! will remove his name from their Buffy and Firefly comics? I just looked and it is noticeably smaller in the new issues than it was when the series first started.
Original it was in big text on the top of the covers, but now on the Buffy comics it's still on the top, but it's a lot smaller, and on the next Firefly comic, it's small and off in the corner.

^Presumably, he needs to get a "created by" credit, but I also noticed how prominently his name was featured in an ad for the Firefly comics in a recent BOOM! book, and thought they probably won't use his name for marketing anymore in the near future.

The latest revelations from Carpenter are no surprise at all; despite some people breathlessly tried to defend Whedon with "he's not all bad" arguments, he had a reputation an abusive personality/serial adulterer for a very long time (and Carpenter has claimed he mocked her faith as well). That is the kind of sickening, bottom-dwelling creature he is, and if there was ever going to be any consistency/integrity in how the entertainment business handles this (yeah, sure) Whedon will need to look for another line of work, but I doubt he will ever find himself completely out of the business.

...and Carpenter's support for Fisher is a welcome development, considering all of the attacks he's suffered by those trying to deny his entire claim / defend Whedon.
