....says the duo at Clownfish TV, who put out this pearl-clutching video two days ago:

Apparently, these two never heard of or figured out that these past four years under Trump has been (near) fascism and has been toxic for the United States and the planet, and the people responsible for this toxic mess need to be dealt with. This is no different than denazification in post-war Germany, as I see it, and these two are just venting because their chaotic neutral libertarianism might get squelched (it probably won't) by this new directive from the publishing industry.

    Thoughts, anyone?

Apologies if this has already been posted.

My only thought is that linking to videos like this can only help the people who make them. Views and votes make them money, whether those views and votes agree with them or not.

Yeah, but as it's been said, sunlight makes for the best disinfectant (and in my case, I have an adblocker to prevent that.)

Let me be clear: I have no use for Trump. He shouldn't have been in charge of a cub scout troop, much less the United States. I have no use for Biden either, but I still think we've traded up. Slightly.

Be that as it may, very few Trump supporters are racist. Very few Americans are racist, for that matter. The KKK used to be a monstrous domestic terror group that people lived in fear of. Now they're just a bunch of pathetic imbeciles in nightgowns who desecrate a sacred symbol.

The media just wants to marginalize Trump's supporters, so they pretend that they're all racists. It's a deplorable, disgusting lie.

This post is as painfully and pathetically out of touch with reality as...most Trump supporters.

The problem with a lot of you people is that you see racism and other forms of discrimination where it's not actually there. Requiring that immigrants follow our procedures for entering our country is not racism... it's rule of law.

So Oddish, who should've been POTUS this time around? I'm just dying to know.

If you seriously believe that, then I have a bridge to sell you in New York with a nice view of Manhattan.

Yes, everybody wants to 'marginalize' a bunch of sheeple who would stage something as dastardly as that invasion of the White House and the congressional building, because these people are just a bunch of poor people let down by society instead of by their own foolishness in being who they are and always voting against their own best interests every four years by voting for people like Ted Cruz, Mike Pence, etc.*

*/Don't worry, I'm not letting the (professional) left off of the hook, either; what they collectively did in the early 2010's led to Trump becoming POTUS, as shown in this article and as mentioned in this interview.

Please stop refering to the American left.

On any international (i.e. non American) scale the Democrats are a right wing party. Just not as right wing as the Republicans.

Outside the U.S., Trump supporters are pretty universally seen as right wing nut-jobs. Is that marginalising ?

Shake, I refuse to adopt your position. Your statement is not backed by any statistical evidence; I therefore denounce it as wishful thinking. It will not get me to believe that 70 million Americans are racists just because they voted for Trump, especially when they had other reasons. Sorry to destroy the sense of empowerment you get from these little statements, but there is nothing you can do to change my mind.

As to who should be president... we have not gotten a good candidate in many years. The Republican party is so broken, Trump was able to hijack it. The Democratic party is so broken, it couldn't beat him in '16, and it was closer than it should've been last year. But in general, I'll take someone with common sense.

Who we vote for reflects on us. If I knowingly vote for someone who is a racist, then I am giving my consent for that racism to manifest itself within the office the individual is running for.

You can't cherry pick which aspects of a person you vote for; you have to own the whole package. A vote for Trump is a vote for racism. Can I continue to say I'm not a racist? Sure, but I'm a hypocrite.

Calling Trump a racist because he supported rule of law regarding undocumented immigrants is false. If we want open borders, then Congress should enact open borders: introduce a bill, vote on it, have Biden sign it into law. What we're doing now, declaring undocumented immigration to be illegal but just letting them in anyway, is beyond ridiculous.

I'm Canadian, and I believe that the Democratic Party is a liberal political party, albeit not a perfect political party (because nothing created by human being is perfect), and was better at most things than the Republicans have been this past century. Don't believe me? Check out Obama's record of accomplishments here, then get back to me.

And no, I myself have never marginalized what Trump supporters are like, ever.

Blocking out Trump supporters seems like a dangerous slippery slope. It seems harmless because it's doing business rather than actually imposing laws that dismantle the First Amendment... but in the end, law follows public opinion. That's why it was illegal to be gay in some states until earlier this century: the people of those states wanted it that way.

They'll call it "hate speech", just like advocating socialism was "un-American activities" 70 years ago... but it will be the same thing: an assault on the Bill of Rights.

Can you explain what you’re trying to say here? What laws are being passed (or even considered), that dismantle the first amendment?
They’ll call “what” hate speech? How is the Bill of Rights under attack?

This is truly the age of speaking in broad non specific generalities and then claiming some point you claim to have made.

All the First Amendment does is protect the government from intruding on your right to free speech. It has absolutely nothing to do with private enterprise deciding it is in their best business interests to tell seditious cretins like Josh Hawley to go pound sand. And let's be honest, after Simon & Schuster dumped him, he immediately got picked up by Regnery, so it's not like he'll be standing in the street passing out copies of his book that he ran off at Kinko's.

Claiming Trump supported rule of law regarding undocumented immigrants is false. In fact, his administration REPEATEDLY violated immigration laws. And even violated immigration laws in other countries.

So because there is a single incident with one group of reactionary whackos, all 70 million Trump supporters are violent, lawless, nightgown-wearing racists... what about the DOZENS of similar demonstrations in cities all over the country by people on the opposite side of the spectrum? Pot calling the kettle black, anyone?

Finn, if it matters so much to you, just keep screaming to yourself that a quarter of the American people are racists. It will still be a lie, but it's clearly a lie you depend on. Ostriches don't really bury their heads in the sand... but people do.
