So my running theory so far: Agnes is the FBI informant/WITSEC. She's not just any old witness, she's an actual witch (maybe another of the Sanctorum's sorcerers gone rogue) and the amnesia hex/spell is her doing. The giant hexagon is literally her spell; a massive hexagram akin to one of those geometric shapes that we always see sorcerers conjure.
I'm not sure if this was part of an intentional attempt on her part to capture and/or control Wanda (let alone her motivations) or whether this whole thing is just a confluence of unforeseen consequences (bit too much of a coincidence for my taste.)

Regardless; even Wanda's subconscious was too powerful and volatile for her to get a handle on and she became just as trapped as everyone. The sitcom, the puppeteering people, the bending of reality is all Wanda. At first it may just have been her mind trying to protect itself from the combination of a magical amnesia spell and a grief induced psychotic break, but as the days have gone on she's become more aware of her agency, beginning to act out the fantasy until she's fully in control, starting with the "stop it!" incident and ending with the birth of the twins.

I think Agnes is able to break character precisely because she knows what's going on and is cooperating with Wanda's "script", in the same way the 80's tech drone was able to retain it's form because it wasn't conflicting with the "production design".

    Interesting implications:
If the government brings in an 80‘s drone in during the 80‘s phase and waits a couple of days. Would they have a free 2020 surveillance high tech drone?

What if douche SWORD boss person who's name I forget is in on this? What if Wanda didn't just show up and steal Vision's body for her own reasons, but because she found out they were trying to use it somehow? (Explicitly against his living will, no less!) On the footage the body is clearly not just in storage but in some kind of lab and it looks like it's been at least partly dismantled, and she looks decidedly outraged. He did mention that SWORD has pivoted towards AI and nano-tech, which is exactly what Vision is.

Not sure yet how that connects to Westview and the witness yet...unless that's where the SWORD facility was, and the "witness" was being used as a consultant on the project. Space magic is what animated Vision the first time around, so the witch theory still fits.
So Wanda busts in, sees Vision's corpse in pieces, Agnes casts an amnesia spell to try and make her forget and walk away. Massively backfires as Wanda's mind just breaks under the strain of *everything* and boom: rip in the multiverse feeding a pocket reality. Maybe the "hex" wasn't to keep people in but to keep the rip multiverse contained and stop it from expanding.
What if the whole town and everyone in it are cover for that SWORD lab? It would explain the lack of children...
Speaking of; wat if the twins have been the goal all along? "Sentient Weapons"? Maybe that's exactly what they were trying to do with Vision's body: create his "children" and that's what's been driving part of this scenario. "For the Children" indeed...

Either way, while I fully expect Strange to show up eventually, it's kinda wild it's taking him this long. I mean detecting and stopping incidents like this is 100% his wheelhouse.

Moreover, what happens to the "show" after Wanda reaches the present-day? Does she just cycle back to the fifties?

Question for those more up on the comics than I: is there an established trans-dimensional being who's whole story revolves around either coming from a "fictional" universe (think 'Fables') and/or uses fiction in the "real" world to manifest?

I recall from the old X-Men cartoon that Mojo had something going on along those lines, at least the multiversal TV aspect anyway. And I guess there was that mind altering creep that got Carol Danvers to give birth him so she could "marry" him.

I think you see what I'm driving at with this, right? The twins may be the intended vessels of something nasty trying to break through to our reality. Or it's some kind of Keymaster & Gatekeeper situation.
That's the show's ticking clock, methinks.

The guy who raped Carol Danvers, Marcus, opens up a can of worms. Marcus was the son of immortus. Immortus was a time traveler of long standing. For the longest time, it was believed that he was a descendant of Doctor Doom until it was finally revealed that he was in fact a descendant of Reed Richards. He started his time-traveling career as Rama-Tut and ended it as Immortus, but in between those two identities, he was known as... Kang the Conqueror. Kang will be debuting in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania. ETA: He was actually time traveling before his time as Rama-Tut during his time as Iron Lad with the Young Avengers-- which provides a link to Tommy and Billy!

And, yeah, I also believe that Tommy and Billy are the key to this whole thing. In the first episode we have Mrs. Hart asking why they don't have children. And in the second episode we have the town's people with their creepy cult like chant of "for the children". Whoever or whatever is behind all of this needs those kids for its own nefarious purposes.

I know it's most likely not going to happen, but it would be fun if there was a shout out to Nicholas Scratch and 'Salem's Seven'. I'd even settle for the High Evolutionary and Bova.

So Marvel seems to have heard about all those most ambitious crossover memes and wants to mic drop on all their assses.

There was a Bova Easter egg in the animated opening credits of episode 2.

And remember Vision has been dead in-universe for 5 years. They have been messing with his body for probably all that time. Wanda, already grief-stricken, finds out about it, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the last straw.

Wanda was snapped so I wonder if she wasn't actually pregnant with the kids during Infinity War and Endgame already. If they aren't constructs from the show then it explains why she can't control them.

Indeed. I hadn't seen any Evan Peters rumors, so, when I read there was a big cameo tonight, I figured it would most likely be Professor Hulk or Doctor Strange, as the other plausible contenders (Betty Ross for a psych eval, Wong for a mystical assessment) wouldn't really qualify as "big."

Of course, Evan Peters himself doesn't qualify as "big" either, but as Quicksilver ported over from the X-Men universe, now, that fits the bill - and took me completely by surprise, which was delightful! (The notion that he's merely playing a Westview townie who just happens to look like the X-Men movie character is, frankly, too absurd to take at all seriously.)

This series is getting better. I'm enjoying the ride, even though they are throwing out one curve after another. I'm so glad they are intercutting both Wanda's World and the Real World now. Also, I loved the Full House theme, and the scene between Vision and Norm was creepy.

Moment that the knock on the door happened, I knew it was Quicksilver. But I had the exact same HOLY CRAP moment you had when I saw who it was.
