Spoilers WandaVision discussion thread

This may or may not be one of those where I've watched it too many times and I'm reading into shit that isn't really there kind of things, but when Wanda expelled Monica, she's knocked through two walls in the house, a fence or third wall, then she breaks through the barrier, or BROKE THE FOURTH WALL, and out into the real world.
And the fact that she was shown initially doing the magic red hand thing towards the camera (ie, another fourth wall)

As far as anything I've read, Chris Evans doesn't want to do it anymore. I seriously doubt we'll see him in the role again. Unless they find a lookey-likey or go with a CGI Chris Evans we won't be seeing the Cap we know and love .
Chris Evans has indicated he's open to appearing as Captain America in a supporting role ala Iron Man in the Spiderman movies.

Wow, that didn't even occur to me. Definitely seems like the kind of meta thing they'd do on purpose with this show.

So, our episode titles thus far have been "Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience", "Don't Touch That Dial", "Now in Color" and "We Interrupt This Program".

Given this pattern, I'm going to hazard a guess that the episode in which we learn the significance of the advertisements will be titled "And Now a Word From Our Sponsors".

Old Cap is in a alternate timeline anyways so I don't see him showing up even though he is still alive. Granted maybe that doesn't matter if the show brings in multiverse stuff.

Jason

He was on a bench in our time, looking old but fine. I see no reason to believe he's not both alive and in our timeline.

Elizabeth Olsen gave an interview with TV Line and they asked the question if viewers should expect a 'Luke Skywalker' level cameo from a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and she said 'Yes . . . I'm really excited'.
So, who are we laying odds on the cameo being?
Personally, I'm leaning towards Pietro.

Yeah, I took the mention of his death in Spider-man FFH to simply reflect the official version, to explain why the youthful Cap wasn’t seen in public after the events of Endgame. They probably don’t want his enemies to know that he’s now an elderly man, no longer in his prime. But he didn’t look to be on his deathbed in that scene.

I also don’t think they’d kill off the character offscreen.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will probably confirm it one way or the other. Chris may not be back but the actor who played Old Cap should be available (or I’m sure Bucky and Sam will discuss his current status at some stage).

Thanks. I don’t know why I never googled this before. I mean, marvel are brilliant at de-ageing SFX, so I should’ve figured that they’d just aged Chris up too. But his voice sounded really convincing too, while his mannerisms also convinced. I suppose having grown up seeing dodgy old age makeup in things like Mr Saturday Night or even the odd episode of TNG, I just wasn’t ready for a really well-done sequence!

Hey, if they could make him look super-skinny in First Avenger in 2011 and on a lower budget then making him look old and skinny again 9 years later shouldn't be too hard.

Remember, the VFX artists are the same ones who make Michael Douglas look like he walked off the set of Wall Street in the opening sequence of "Ant-Man" and made Hayley Atwell look convincing as a lady in her 60s in the same scene.

A little late but my two cents...

Yes, finally an episode that felt like it was taking place in the MCU or AOS realms.

While I commend them on building a rich story about Wanda going crazy after the death of Vision, I think the whole "She's created a bubble reality to deal with it" has been little long. This could have been explored more succinctly in the first two episodes. It's been fun watching them go thru the various stages of television (I'm old enough to have watched the shows they reference) but just dragged out a bit. IMO.

Looked a little info up and "Billy and Tommy" have an interesting back story.

Looking forward to this weeks episode.
Cat Dennings rocks.
Randall Park is always good.

Doctor Strange would be the safe bet. We can all see Pietro coming.
I agree Strange is the safe bet, too, but then we would see him coming, too, since we already know Wanda will be in his next movie.

I'm sure I'm just overthinking this scenario and the "surprise cameo" is actually just Strange, but I wonder...

Captain America or Iron Man is more of Luke Skywalker style cameo. My money is on Cap. Captain America is also a character in line with old school values depicted in these classic sitcom settings. Jason
