I can easily accept ‘I hated this’ but I find it difficult to accept ‘it had no plot’. It has about as much merit as ‘Saru wasn’t in the episode’ or ‘they did not show the ship’. They’re all demonstrably untrue. If people mean they didn’t like the plot, that’s totally fine. There’s lots of the plots in Trek that I just dislike, but I’d be insulting not just your intelligence but your sanity if I said it didn’t have a plot. It makes it really difficult to engage in conversation if the basis requires you to engage in a different reality.

Unfanthomable to me how people can rate this with a 3, 2 or 1... That's Code Of Honor, Move Along Home territory...

    10/10!
That was a movie worthy episode!
Tbh it’s actually how I imagined the series would end, so I agree with everyone saying it felt like a series finale. Only I knew they were already filming S4, I’d be worried!
Im super excited for what going to happen next season! Burnham is, and always been, the most worthy person to Captain Discovery. I’m going to hope that the ship goes back to its attached nacelles.

(and for fuck sake people! Look at the size of Discovery compared to Pikes Enterprise in the S2 final. It’s fucking massive! Especially given the 31st century mods of programable matter! Do you REALLY think that there couldn’t be that much space inside her hull?! *facepalm*)

To provide guidance on how to suck the creativity out of writers, or how to bully cast members?

Berman ran the franchise into the ground. Kurtzman has revived it.

OK I gave this one an 8
I loved it flaws and all.

I liked how they gave a resolution to Su'kal and got him settled. I liked that a lot.

More Space Die Hard. I like that, more please. I am so happy now that Zareth got his comeuppance and is now a stain on the bottom of the very, very, very large turbolift network floor. I liked that scene. More die hard with Michael and company fighting through the ship, we got to see inside one of Disco's nacelles, that was very cool. I liked that a lot.

Owo and the gang were fantastic. The DOT23s were fantastic. Yay tiny robots you did well. You did very well you awesome little beings.

It was really neat that we got to see Grey appear to everyone, that was cool. I love how Adira turned into one of Po's people and that was a nice neat callback to last season.

Osyraa was a fantastic villain and Janet Kidder really did deliver the goods with her
. Kind of sad she meet her fate the way she did. That was very quick. Michael being forced into the computer core was kind of iffy and wasn't quite sure what was going to happen there. For a moment I thought maybe the green lady had won.

Ejecting the warp core was fun and love how it scraped along the tube as it fell. OK why keep firing on Disco when their leadership is dead. Why not just surrender? So without the Virridian the Emerald Chain folded over so that one ship was the only thing keeping it in power that is piss weak, absolutely piss weak, but the bad guys died so I am super happy, all those bad people who didn't surrender.

Fun, fun, fun, and I can't wait for season 4..... I love Star Trek Discovery.

But you are ok with all the 9s and 10s
Was that put in for some special reason or just for fun ?
O2 was cut to all decks below 5 so either that giant turbolift city is all in the top few decks or the writers cant even remember their own scripts
I think thats the first time we see a 32nd century holodeck so whoo knows what they can do.
Discovery crew are very familiar with holodecks already which seems odd though

I have a thought or two about the turbolift scene.

I think they did it that way to convey the action for us the viewers. I don't think those cavernous spaces are really there but they filmed it that way to show us how things moved about inside that space just they deleted the shafts and walls.

...Oh, I'm fine with a ship that's mostly empty inside. Starfleet in 2257 just grabbed the nearest unused hulk that could accommodate weird war-winning experiments, and it happened to be an old shuttlecarrier. The USN did some of that with its surplus carriers, too.

It's just that the interiors shown here are in the scale of dozens of kilometers, with hundreds by no means ruled out. Perhaps that's why they still have turbolifts - the badge transporters lack the range?

Yes, because I thought it was a very good episode.
It's impossible to objectively talk about any form of art, but I do feel this episode was lightyears ahead of 'the worst of the worst imaginable'.... and deep down, I think even the haters giving 1's know this....

Ok, then please explain what the plot was? What was this story about? What was there that wasn’t basically a droning conclusion of the previous two episodes? What apart a lot of fighting, shooting and repeating what we knew already?

you can fit several discoverys in the space shown...

Not to mention that on this ship people have to share quarters and there isn’t a proper gym, according to season one...but they have huge empty spaces with full life support?!

there was a sort of holodeck in season one...not used much, luckily.

ok, but if I have to reimagine how things actually looked like I’d rather read a book. But well, I’m not much into abstract art, I guess.

Agreed. Not that massive. Not really much more massive than Enterprise, but longer and flatter. That was an entire world in there this episode. Kind of reminded me of Tron a little.

It's not that the ship is big. It's that future technology incurs savings by shrinking the crew. That's not a "cavernous hold", that's the insides of those equipment panels lining the corridors!

    I really enjoyed this one.

The Turbolift funhouse really got to shine:lol: I imagine some will be hurting over that for a very long time. I can only say Discovery is hollow, and apparently fits an entire city inside. Lots of fun action. But how exactly did Osyrra think that pushing Michael into the computer pinart wall would kill her? They never showed the computer pinart tech as harmful in any way so it didn't make much sense.

Gray being visible as a hologram made... as much sense as her being a ghost only Adira can see, but at least everyone now knows for sure he's not a hallucination/imaginary friend.

Sweet sad ending with Su'Kal, and I love that Saru went with him to Kanimar... which is now full of advanced cities! 900 years is a long time.

Loved the ending with the new captain and uniforms. Season 4 they become a dilithium freight operation.

EDIT: And they fetched the guy from episode one and made him a real officer! I was so happy.

I found myself bored several times during the episode. Could have been better. I might rewatch it again, so I can give it another chance.

sensible use for a very old ship that couldn’t possibly match others in military action...oh, wait!
