    Nope, not the transfer device.

Clue 2: It can be used for fuel.

Ignore my previous post I didn't see the last clue!

How about the blood plasma container in Obsession? The creature would use this as energy fuel, to sustain itself.

Negative - not plasma, not coal.
Clue 3: No digging or mining is required to find it.

    used to refuel the shuttlecraft?

Send up a flare and try again!

Clue 4: Only one of our heroes gets his hands on it.

Explosive Rocks on Gamma Trianguli Six (from The Apple)?
    1. Found on the planet.
    2. Vaal eats them for food.
    3. Found just lying around, everywhere (watch your step, Mallory!)
    4. Spock breaks a rock in two (whew, our main characters dodged one there!)

    Objects...objects...hmmm.

Clue 1: The object made two separate appearances during the series.

The "laser cannon" seen in "The Cage" and repeated scene in "The Menagerie"? (if not the cannon any thing else from this special circumstance of these two episodes?)[IMG]

Not correct. I'd consider The Cage not TOS, rather only The Menagerie is canon.
Why are you playing a lute and not resting? Nope.
No tinkling bells, but they are nice to hear.
Clue 2: The object is seen on two different ships, but not on the USS Enterprise.

when henoch said "USS" Enterprise, I immediately thought "Mirror, Mirror" "ISS" and looked at the agonizer, the booth, the tantalus field, Don't know if I knew about (or forgot about) the high back captain's chair! Good one!!

Yes, it is the high-back captain's chair.
    1. Only seen in Mirror, Mirror and The Ultimate Computer.
    2. The high-back captain's chair is used on the ISS Enterprise and the USS Lexington.

You have the game, @Methuselah Flint .

Starbase 11 is not a ship, but good try.

    Clue # 1
This specific object made only one appearance I believe.
