Did anybody else pick up on the fact that Michael has figured out that "The Burn" didn't happen at the exact same instant across the galaxy?

So, it seems that it apparently started at a single location and spread rapidly outward from wherever that was.

Yeah, that was explained at least once ;)
But the data resolution wasn't fine enough to find a 3D location, it only worked for a plane...

She's only a hundred some years behind everyone else I guess.

Since everybody and their mothers should have that same data.

I gave it a 7. The character moments were very good. The part on the salvage planet (basically the action scenes) was mediocre and disappointing.

Linus and Grudge were great.

it was nice that they named a starship after writer Ursula Le Guin. She once wrote an article in TV guide saying she loved TNG.

Shit, fuck, heads exploding.... remember when you could watch Star Trek with your family?
Bad episode. I'm tired of the melodrama and speeches, people getting teary eyed (6 episodes in a row now). It's a beautifully made show, the productions values are excellent, even better than the Mandalorian. But please, pull it together, get over your sense of self and start being Star Trek.

no

And that was considered a misstep never to be revisited and edited out of all the broadcasts I have watched of it.

Wasn't the episode considered too violent and gory and the people working on the show didn't like that direction?

I watch the UK version. Both BBC and Sky it was edited. I had to buy it on VHS to see the unedited version.

Where did you live? Maybe Japan and the UK edited, but I have seen the explosion in the US Italy and Germany.......I don't see how you say it was a misstep either. It is listed in several Top Trek episode lists.

It's actually a shame they didn't follow up on the plot line IMO.

Actually it would make for a good season-long arc in Modern Trek...with updated exploding head effects.

what do you mean? At this point you just need 3 black boxes (which now they have) to pinpoint the source of the burn to two quite precise possible locations in space, the next logical step would be to check those out.

It’s not rocket science, it’s indeed something that the Greek in BC times could have done!

Just finished watching. Y’all know I love Discovery, but I have mixed feelings over this episode. I kinda feel like we’re back to square one. Michael has regressed as a character after showing so much promise in S2 and early this season.

The character moments on Discovery were good. I love Stamets and Adiras friendship!

I want more Tilly and Grudge!!

Weakest episode of the season so far. I give it a 7. Would like to have seen more of Discovery’s refit.

Another 8 for me. Season 3 is really hitting it out of the park. My favourite parts were Linus randomly hopping around the ship because he can't get the hang of the personal transporter. I thought that was a great little thing to carry through the episode.

I love the new upgrades the Bridge got. the new controls and stuff look amazing, but so much blue, they love blue.

Disco now has detached nacelles, but then in Calypso they are attached again, so I wonder if that is an optional mode for them now, or will this series render that short episode void.

I liked the rogue mission Michael went on, that was good, but what the heck is up with Georgiou? Did glasses man fuck over her mind or is there something else going on here? Something's not quite right with my favourite empress.

Book's ship can do a transformer and break itself apart, that's fricking cool. Loved the way they did that. But why are there so many old ships floating above the salvage planet, that did seem kind of odd, the final fight in the ship felt very Star Wars, but I'm not complaining I fricking loved it.

Overall a fun episode.

I don't even want a Section 31 series in ANY time period. It's got bad idea written all over it as a Star Trek series.

Section 31 is best when in the deep shadows and background, not weekly recurring characters.

How about a S31 sitcom? Mr. and Mrs. Section 31, complete with nosy neighbors.
