It's also very strange that Vance doesn't mention this. I don't think Burnham's mutiny and then pardon were classified. He should have read all about it and mentioned it.

Best thing that could happen to this show is if they kill off Burnham. I'm tired of her. I guarantee "The Burn" refers to Burnham. It's staring right in our face. I'm glad they cut away at the very end right before she started crying.....again.

This is something I've thought of.
But, no. Both times we've seen Burnham as First Officer in this series, she's messed up. She's not right for the position. Even less so in the 32nd Century. Saru fits right into this Starfleet. Burnham? Not so much. At the end of the day, she's not a Team Player. This episode shows "The Vulcan Hello" wasn't an aberration.

That's not what's going to happen. Unless you can explain to us how Burnham can cause something when she wasn't even around, you're just using her as a scapegoat because you don't like her. The Burn happened 810 years after she left the 23rd Century and 120 years before she arrived in the 32nd. She was nowhere.
And what type of twisted reverse logic is it that the protagonist of the show, the hero of the show, caused the downfall of the Federation?

Loved it. 10. Particularly fascinating to me to watch a Starfleet crew that's post-Enterprise/Pre-Kirk interact with a Starfleet that's post-TCW/Daniels.
Also, did Andor leave the Federation, and if yes, why?

Yup. Lots of shows do great after killing off their lead character...

Oh, yeah, the show I gave up after 2 episodes.
Because Discovery can travel in time, and go back to cause it. Find some imagination!
It's not so much I dislike Burnham, it's the way her character is being written.
I didn't start watching it until season 7 was out and I struggled with it at first. If not for the fact that I was able to binge watch it, I would have given up. Never would have been able to keep up in real time.
Poor Saru, I dunno who he can really pick... Good to see Grudge again though, crashing the Zoom. And Michael and Empress Gorgeous make a great double act.
Also, Linus was a show stealer, and I'm not mad about the detached nacelles of the Discovery-A.
I've thought all season that the new uniforms and combadges look very Bajoran styled, and that is not a feeling that's going away. I wonder if the Prophets caused the Burn. Or the Pah Wraiths. Somehow I doubt it though.

There is not a single character in that show I could care about.
Give me Burnham any day of the week and twice on Sunday compared to those characters.
Blake's 7 season 3... Though he did come back in the final episode to be killed off again, and then the show didn't do so well...

Yeah. Unfortunately, I have to agree with Vance, Saru, and Tilly. They can't have someone second-in-command who just does things willy-nilly. From Vance's point of view, is that really someone he'd want in charge of Discovery if something happened to Saru? So, yeah, great as she is as a character, between this episode and the pilot, it shows that Burnham just isn't the right fit to be a First Officer.
That having been said, I loved when Burnham and Georgiou went off to rescue Book.
It looks like Georgiou has PTSD now too. I think Cronenberg took away Georgiou's "evil" Mirror gene (or whatever it is) and now suddenly she's beginning to feel overwhelmed over everything she did in the Mirror Universe all at once now.
I like the new comm-badges. But I think Linus is messing around with everyone on purpose.
I liked the junkyard. I half-expected Georgiou or Burnham to say, "Hi! We were just looking for some spare parts for a 2256 Crossfield Class!"
And I love the new upgrades to Discovery! I think changing the registry is to hide the fact that the ship is from the past.

Burnham at least I have an interest and an investment in to see where her journey takes her.
I enjoyed this episode, especially the character moments. To those complaining about Burnham always rebelling, well that’s who she is. At least there are consequences. How many times on TNG and DS9 did Worf go off and do his own thing despite orders without consequences?
I overall liked this ep.
Really liked the moment with Stamets and the teen. Very human, not forced or trying too hard.
I was sure hoping Burnham would fail at least in part, in order to learn humility. A Po Dameron moment? Nope. Victorious. Though she got canned. Admiral should have addressed her as LT. Commander, implying a demotion.
And then . . . the CRYING! OMG, somebody make her stop. Please EVery damned episode, boohoohoo. SO annoying. I thought she was raised Vulcan. SPEAKING of which . . .
I just saw the end of TNG "Sarek" where Picard loses it and sobs. Someone usually in such control, and he loses it like real people do. Very effective and moving. So I'm not anti-tears or touching moments.
I just hate Michael Burnham so much. And then SHE has the gall (b/c she's right about everything) to tell Saru he made the right decision. Thank you so much. Now it is official, the Burnham has decreed lowly Saru was right. Yes, the show would be better without her.
This show is so NOW, that's what I can't stand: forget loyalty, order, doing things as a team, following orders. I know best and I will do whatever I want to do. Because I think it, it is right. Because I want to do or not do it, it is right. Anyone telling me I can't do something is WRONG, and I am right. (Apply this to our contemporary scene as you will.)
At least she got fired. And I must dwell on the good things in this ep.
